They joined volunteer organizations and legal groups giving legal aid to the poor, the politically oppressed, and sectors of society clamoring for a voice in the political and judicial process.
They continued this advocacy as legal practitioners in the United States.
May Anne championed the cause of discriminated workers, Filipino World War II veterans, and Filipino immigrants.
In 1998 Emiluz opened her own private practice in San Diego CA where she continued to be active and provided legal services to the Filipino community.
