This was the most accommodating funeral home for my mom's visitation/memorial service. This place was chosen because of the respect , courtesy and compassion that was shown to my sister as she spoke to someone on the phone.,unlike another funeral home in neighboring town that my mom lived in failed to do. I wanted to let everyone know that the staff here are the most wonderful and compassionate people. I personally dealt with Mr. Chris Norris and he was very very good with my family and myself. We were unable to afford the price of my requests and Mr. Norris never tried to talk me into changing my mind and I really deeply appreciated that. I was able to pay the small fee because they are the ones that went and picked my mother up from her and they took very good care of her. Mr. Norris also allowed me too have a personal viewing of my mother and he gave us locks of her hair at no extra charge. He will never know how much that meant to me. They had already cleaned her up and my mom had really long hair almost to her waist I will never forget how her hair was partially damp and it smelled so good. Her hair always took a long time to dry . After seeing her I waited for him in the lobby so I can give him a big hug for being such a good person. I understand that Funeral homes are a business. I have seen people before deal with other Funeral homes and I could see the pressure of them trying to make a sale on them I highly recommend Rader in Kilgore and especially Mr. Chris Norris. I would give a thousand star rating if that option was available.

The Rader Funeral Home team comforted our family from the beginning. The team thought of every possible detail, which made the process easy for us so we could concentrate on our family and celebrating the life of our loved one. The depth of care provided by Rader was like a warm blanket on a cool evening. Sincerity and compassion is what comes to mind as we went through the preparation for a perfectly planned service with the help of J Mitchell and the folks at Rader Funeral Home.

Nobody likes to deal with death of a loved one, but it sure helps the process to have kind, compassionate, caring, and responsible professionals to handle the details. My beloved mother passed away in another state. And getting her body to Kilgore for burial was very challenging because of the pandemic and our timeline. But because of the exceptional and compassionate work of Stephen Wright, we were able to eulogize my mother in Colorado and then have a graveside service for her in Kilgore - all happening within three days. The director Jay was extremely unprofessional, very controlling and treats women like they are beneath him. If you care about your loved one I’d go somewhere else.
