RU Geospatial Science student connection page
Geospatial Science is a discipline that focuses on using information technology to understand people, places, and processes of the earth. Spatial analysis of human and physically variables is fundamental to the discipline. Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems, and Global Positional Systems technologies are commonly used as measurement, observation and analysis tools. The discipline is a science foremost because the scientific method is used to answer questions and draw conclusions, but also because the discipline acts as a bridge between the human and physical sciences. Tools of inquiry in Geospatial Science include formulating hypotheses, collecting data, conducting statistical analysis of the data, and making conclusions that are supported by the data and evidence.
