I suppose it's no surprise that the store is going bankrupt. I purchased several items, and immediately upon receiving my itemized receipt saw that I had been charged 10$ higher than the listed price for one of the products I hadn't even left the counter yet. Was told that since they're no longer accepting returns, and "prices change all the time," I essentially should have known better - nothing anybody could do apparently; Radioshack stole 10$. Followed up online, received a stock response that had nothing to do with my complaint. Even with the steep discounts for their bankruptcy sale, the horrible service and apparent disdain for their customers hardly seems worth putting up with.
Radio Shack is not what it used to be! I visit this shop mostly for discreet electronic components for hobby projects. They do have a minimal selection but I guess the only economical outlets for this kind of goods is on the Web now a days. The service in the shop is very good with friendly and knowledgeable employees.
I went in to this Radio Shack looking for a universal remote and a digital adapter box. The salesperson asked me a few questions about the kind of TV I had, whether or not I had an antenna & my general location to the foothills. Based on this information, he was very upfront with me about the possibility of the adapter box not working because reception could be sketchy at best in my area. He assured me that if it did not work that I could return it, no questions asked. It didn't so I did, but I did end up keeping the universal remote that he recommended which was less expensive than the one I originally went in looking for. Great service & friendly, knowledgeable staff.
They don't carry much of a selection of electronics parts. Staff I spoke with didn't know what a momentary switch was. Prices are not very good, but better than waiting for Amazon sometimes.
I didnt even know this place existed until i passed it on my way to another store in the shopping center. I decided to take a look around inside before my intended trip. they had a wide range of technology. I saw crt monitors, AV cables and ghetto blasters. When i asked the salesperson is they sold phone cases he led me over to the measly display of flip phones and a few leather belt holsters for them. The sign above the phones boated that they now offered text messaging services. Obviously in the wrong place, i walked around a bit more, passing shelves of cd players and ham radio supplies. When i picked up something, anything, to inspect it further about a foot of dust came with it.
Didn't have a raspberry pi... That's like the starter kit for embedded Linux. Also didn't have a serial to USB. Radioshack has turned into a battery store..
Store brand? closing, going out of business. Everything 30-70% off. This store is getting inventory from other closimg stores so may stay open longer tham some closing stores.
The store is now closed 10/4/17. Wish I knew it before I drove 15 miles.
Go into the store knowing what you need. The guys working there arent too knowledgeable.
This used to be a place where you could get all sorts of supplies but I'm not sure how they survive now.
