*WARNING, YOU CANNOT RETURN BATTERIES AT RADIOSHACK ANYMORE* I am so disappointed with how incompetent RadioShack has become. I used to be a sales associate and assistant manager for 2 years while I was in college. I had plenty of customers who came in and would return a battery because it wasn't the right one. I would gladly return it or let them exchange it for something else. When I left the company was in the process of closing down thousands of stores nationwide. Fast forward to October, 2016 and I have my career job in Philadelphia. My key fob won't unlock my work car in the morning so I use my personal car to drive to RadioShack and get a battery for the key fob. I go back to my work car and the key fob still doesn't unlock the car. Roadside Assistance came out an told me that my battery died. I tried to return the battery at another store and the associate told me that I could not return the battery. I was confused because I had the receipt. I asked if I could get store credit. The sales associate said that RadioShack has changed their return policy. You cannot return batteries anymore. He told me that the associates have to make that clear when they sell batteries. Well guess what? The sales associate at the Chestnut St RadioShack did not tell me that I could not return this battery. I will never do business with RadioShack ever again. They have lost me as a customer for life.
Bought a dual monitor cable from the Radio Shack in Warminster, PA on the recommendation of the MANAGER, named David. I thought I made it clear it was to connect two monitors to a laptop. Turns out the product does not do that. I called to ask if I could bring it back for store credit toward the right product. He insisted that he explained the product didn't do what I wanted when I purchased it, which is rediculous because I would not have purchased it, clearly. He also said, "we don't play games with our customers, they play games with us" and "too bad" all sales are final because they are going out of business. I thought since he clearly sold me the wrong product due to miscommunication, he would try to make it right, instead he was insulting and rude. Do not go to Radio Shack, they clearly do not care about doing a good job or about their customers. No wonder they are going under.
Amidst the hustle-bustle of center city, I was able to duck into this Radio Shack and get some actual one-on-one customer service. The associate took plenty of time to explain all the details on the Roku device. Talk to Jeff like I did, he was very helpful and thorough.
It's sad what has happened to RadioShack, but this one still has some of the original qualities that made RadioShack so successful way back when. The cell phone section is a little ridiculous, taking up most of the store, but that's the world we live in, so can't blame them for trying to adapt.
This store plays favorites: I rushed to this store, being one of the only electronics stores in the area to get an ethernet cable for my computer. I got there at 7:56, 4 minutes to closing, and saw a woman pleading to buy one last thing. I though "Whew! I can at least do the same and internet for tonight!" Nope! The employee flirted with the woman, let her in, then turned to me and said "Sorry man, we're closed", and locked the doors before I even had a chance to say I only needed a cable. An elderly man knocked on the door seconds later wanting something else, and the same employee just shook his head and mouthed closed.
Awesome customer service. I called to find out if they have a product I was looking for and the lady on the phone was really polite and professional. Her name was Alexus she really knows what she was talking about. I highly recommend this place for electronics
Its a great place to get batteries , otherwise it should be sent back to 1985 , cause that's where I felt like I was at with their products..please restock the shelves with stuff from this century.
I couldn't find thermal paste for my PC repair at best buy, staples, walmart, etc. The clerk knew just what I was looking for, and had several options in stock.
Can't find radio shack that hasn't closed down, but when I used to go to the radio shack stores, they were really good,n respectable.
It sure ain't Mouser or DigiKey but it certainly is the last place in Center City you can buy electronic parts at a reasonable price.
