Longtime bbq spot for delicious meats and sides. Normal menu of beef, chicken, ribs, sausage, and turkey.Price is lower than newer craft bbq locations. Can be busy at lunch and dinner times. Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with children.
Excellent Chicken!! So soft and juicy! Not dried and chewy. The fries were so yummy! If in the area and you want bbq, go check them out! Staff friendly! Tuesday special is the chicken platevwith 2 sides and a drink for $9 dollars! Awesome deal! Daily specials! Not sure of the rest of the days. Look it up, you will want great food for an amazing low price!
This is my top BBQ spot in all of DFW. The BBQ sauce is a perfect blend of sweet and spice. The pork ribs and sliced brisket are the best that I’ve personally had. Large side of fries is enormous. Beer is always frosty cold. Kid-friendliness: Kids always have fun on the patio. Lots of easy food options for kids.
Love the Brisket, good food ,good times. Dropped in with a Graduation Party. They were busy and took care of our large party fast, if it is too crowded they have seats on there patto ans a bar on the inside. They gave us so much food we had to ask for a to go bag . Will be back..Food: 5/5
Stopped by this place for the first time. It's just off the freeway. Parked in the front. Didn't realize there was also parking on the side. As such, I was not sure where to order my food when I first went inside. Hint:If you enter through the front door facing the Main Street, keep walking past the bar and get in line by the metal rail at the back to order food. My meal of the day was the rib plate with a side of potato salad and green beans. My daughter was with me. She had eaten earlier, so only got a mini tub of vanilla Ice cream. She's sensitive to smells, and so to get away from the smoked meat aroma, we ate outdoors. I noticed it, but itdidn't bother me. Overall, nice ambiance inside and out. The meat was flavored nicely. Even though you typically don't get much meat on ribs, there was more meat than fat which is what I usually experience when I order ribs somewhere. I believe there were four ribs, check the photos and video for reference. Didn't care for the sauce too much. Had a very strong tomato sauce base. Almost like chunky marinara. Not all together bad, just not the typical barbecue sauce flavor I'm used to. That, plus the fact that the side portions were smaller thn I would've liked is why I gave the review 4 stars instead of 5. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was very inviting. The place was clean and well maintained. I was thinking of getting the brisket or chopped beef on my next visit, but unless they offer a different kind of barbecue sauce, like some places have original plus spicy or original or sweet, this might be my last visit. Kid-friendliness: I saw a couple of families there with their kids. They were also eating out at the picnic tables.
This establishment is a top tier one. I had the chicken plate w/potato salad, beans and green beans it was scrumdiiiilllyyyyumptious as Ned Flanders from The Simpson would state. The only thing that would maximize the menu is more side choices such as mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, broccoli and rice and/creamed spinach.Food: 5/5
Best BBQ IN TX I've been all over Texas trying different versions of BBQ and RailHead has laid down the golden spike when it comes to smoked meats. The meat is so tender and moist every time with out fail. Hats off to the grill master or chef who is smoking the meats. Sometimes the meat is a little more smokey than others, but it has always been perfect. When we have family in from out of town this is where we bring them. Our family from Utah is still talking about how amazing the barbecue here was and it has been several months since they've been in town. We have friends in the Air Force who flew in town and needed a recommendation for a good meal, this is where I sent them. For this meal we had the Tuesday special which is chicken with two sides and a drink or you can substitute your two side options for french fries. To add; the sides need a bit of improvement, but it is practically negligible because of how good the meat is. The potato salad is way too dry for my liking, but it maybe just perfect for those that like dry potato salad. The ranch style beans taste exactly like the ones you get at Walmart out of the can with the black label nothing really special here. These are the two options I normally get because I don't eat pork. They also serve green beans, but those have pork so I can't speak to the flavor. Another side option is french fries which are probably my least favorite side. The french fries are usually mostly soggy and really don't have any flavor. They also have the usual slaw which I've never heard any complaints. My one recommendation would be adding a good mac and cheese option to the menu, it would take it to the next level. I gave the service three stars because at this location there's not really service to speak of so if you dine here you shouldn't expect anyone to check on you while you're eating or refill your drinks. Everything is pretty much self-service and with that said make sure you clean up behind yourself and don't leave your food and trays on the table. I also gave it three stars because everyone working is usually very friendly and has smiles on their face and will get you a to-go box if you need one. If you get a beer here the mugs are practically frozen and keep the beer just as cold. I know one of the beer options is Shiner Bock. I think they also have Bud and Miller but I can't say for sure. I gave the atmosphere five stars there's lots of old memorabilia to look at on the walls. They also have an outdoor patio that looks out at some old buildings. There's a little bit of road noise being so close to the highway but it's not too bad.
Tons of interior dining space as well as some patio seats as well. They have a few TVs around the inside, as well as a bar with plenty of seating and ice cold beer. Only thing they were out of was ribs, so I opted for brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad on the side. The brisket was fatty but not too fatty, which I like. Plenty of flavor and a nice texture and flavor on the sausage as well. Really good sauce and sides here too, even the fries were solid.
Pretty traditional Texas BBQ spot. First time visiting and was very confused walking in, trying to figure out the setup. If it was a "wait to be seated" place or "seat yourself". No signs or anything to direct people.Food: 4/5
Texas staple ribs and brisket for lunch. This $11 rib plate for lunch is a real winner and my partner got a brisket sandwich that was very juicy and flavorful. Great potato salad and Pinto beans. The size of the crowd testifies to quality of the bbq. Enjoy.
