This place is truly unique & an excellent example of responsible land management. The structures, trails, & amenities are top notch. You can tell that everyone that cares for this place actually cares about the longevity of its existence. I am very happy to have spent a few days training here & it was a very enjoyable overall experience.
Nice campgrounds, pretty decent camp sites, some areas not well lit for walking at night, but be prepared, bring your flashlight. Well kept place, unfortunately the trading post Is not open except during summer camp Restrooms: Some bathrooms are more for non campers, some are more..ahem...rustic
We love scout camp. We stayed in September for family camp. There were so many activities for the scouts then. For Halloween they had a very creepy haunted woods set up. Today we had a great time outdoors in the snow for the arctic blast. I recommend any scouting families to support the camp and attend events going on at RSR. I have yet to be disappointed.
Great camp. Awesome ropes/COPE course. My son and I had a blast!
Spent time here in the mid 1980's. Some of my best memories, and although I now live over a 1000 miles away, glad to see it's still up and running.
A very well kept facility for Scouts in a quiet wooded area with lots of deer and other wildlife.
Was only there overnight so didn't get to use all the amenities but it seems like a nice place if you get to spend some time there... could use some upgrades to the out houses though and /or add to the upgraded bathrooms there.
I didn't have the opportunity to go here until I was an adult. The camp staff are great with the kids and actually wear out my kid. I'd love to come back here, but my boy is transitioning to boy scouts and my chances of coming back are limited
New dining hall is amazing! Nice grounds and easy to get too. Great looking obstacle course.
Great Boy Scout camp...a hidden gem just west of Joliet and south or Morris. Showers, lake front and dining hall all well maintained!
