When I moved in 5 years ago I would have given this place 6 stars.The family owned business and Management were STELLAR! I actually went in the office to chat with Eileen during the days sometimes.She was WONDERFUL! Since the place sold....not so much. Management makes all the difference. This place has rude, antagonistic management that ignores calls, and delays repairs for years personal experience with mold in our walls. They towed our truck from our spot we PAY for because our tire was low on air. Other actually non operable vehicles get left alone for over a year. Management picks and chooses who to overly enforce rules for and who to let be severely loud and obnoxious. Our upstairs neighbors are so loud that we literally had to sleep in our living room for over a year. They CONSTANTLY try to find reasons to enter apartments while the residents are not home. They posted a 24 hour notice of entry covering an entire week well 6 days from 8am-5pm. Save yourself and RUN! People constantly blare very loud music in the parking lot at all hours and speed through at dangerous speeds. We have seen SEVERAL drug deals from our back patio. This place is spacious and utilities are mostly covered, but the benefit is NOT worth the overall cost of you can afford to pay more.
Poor management. No proper communication. I’m a caregiver that works from home and they had my car towed without even calling. It’s been three days and I never got notification. It was day time. Had they called they would’ve realized the handicap sign had fallen off of the hook. Clearly they have a deal with the towing company and would rather keep they’re relationship with Retriever Towing than keep the peace in the community. Im under the impression they’re getting kickbacks from the towing company. This has been the worst rental experience ever. I would not recommend living here.
Just moved in less than 3 weeks ago and boy was that a mistake. Incredibly rude neighbors with loud tv's, musical instruments, and cars rolling into the complex with loud subwoofers. Not one person has said hello to me since moving in. The water has been turned off twice already for "maintenance" Management seems to sit on complaints until THEY want to use it. Which does not seem to help de-escalate issues but make them worse. Already have lawyer looking into local law to get me out of lease so I don't pay penalty.
Have Been here for 4 years and have loved every minute. New management is great and even helped me find housing assistance after losing my job due to covid19. The units are 75+ years old at an extremely affordable rate with all utilities included so not sure what the other reviews are complaining about. And issue I've had had always been fixed and timely. Grounds are well maintained. Happy to be an RSA resident
If you enjoy hot showers don't move here. I've complained off and on to management since October 2018 about a complete lack of hot water in the shower. For months I was told contradicting statements from management and the maintenance crew. After 6 months or so I was finally told that there is nothing they can do. Their exact words, "It's just an old building." You'd think it would be a main priority to supply tenants with hot water. Apparently not. Me and my roommate are in an old unit that lacks any of the new renovations. They can slap on a new paint job and install solar panels but that means nothing when the basic necessities are not being supplied.
I had been looking for several months and found the rental market here very expensive. I moved in November and found the month to month suitable for me. There were some water issues at first but they went out of there way to change shower heads 3 times. The market has dropped almost 30% since November so albeit the apartment was completely renovated and in excellent condition I need a 2 bedroom with more storage. The management was always helpful and Eileen was always very professional. Recommend it!
This was our prior complex and we are missing the family owned property managers very much so now. They are very on top of any issues that arise. We moved because we needed a bigger space and wanted a locked laundry room and dishwasher. Unfortunately there was nothing opening for a while and we wanted to be moved before school started. We've had such a bad experience with our new complex, we wish we would of waited. The open laundry rooms still would not be my favorite, but there is something huge to say about good management, it's priceless!
I lived in the Raleigh Scholls Apts for about 16 months. Although my apt was beautiful and spacious, for most of the time I lived there, there was sporadic hot water, and the water pressure was almost non existent. I would get up a 5 am to take a shower and would let the water run for 20 minutes just to get luke warm water. Also, the baseboard heaters in the bedrooms did not work and I was told by the maintenance guy they could not be fixed. So I had to rely on the heat function on my air conditioner to heat the entirel apt. Maintenance gave me an ancient space heater to use but I was afraid to use it. My other complaint is that many residents have people moving in and out of their apartments without putting them on the rental agreements. These people take up more parking spaces so finding a parking space during the day is often difficult. Maybe management should consider assigned parking and reserve a few spaces for guest parking. Of course Anthony Powers is going to rate the apartment complex excellent, he is the manager but he does not live there and doesn't have to actually live with these problems on a day to day basis. Would I recommend this place? Maybe...but shop around. Even though electricity, water and garbage are included in the rent there are nicer apartments in the area that wont cost as much even if you have to pay the electric bill yourself.
Not to be confused with the Raleigh Scholls Patio apartments which are awful. These units are much nicer, more modern, and with any luck farther away from the road. Nice layouts too. And covered parking!
Stay away from this place, I never see building management act like maniac craziness they are Terrible managements they didn’t know what they doing. They never took care of anything , never answer your call. They have new lazy manager and never care about anybody or about anything Most if the Residents complains about her. She’s so racist to everyone, you have to pay for everything, Residents are not allowed contact the superior manager of the building, , You’re not allowed to complain about anything otherwise your lease will gonna be terminated.
