I shop Raley's because they have a variety of items I can't find elsewhere. However, they have an ongoing problem with leaving outdated or spoiled food on their shelves. I used Instacart today and had a withered, yellow bunch of asparagus delivered to me. If I had been shopping for myself I would never have purchased it, but more importantly, it should never have been available for sale. If it was a one-time occurrence, I'd let it go, but this has happened to me far too often.
Nice grocery store. Selection is what would be anticipated. However, staff are hit and miss. Sometimes they're friendly and other times they're not. I've met folks at the register who won't even say hi or even make eye contact, others will make sarcastic remarks about what you're buying while others are very pleasant. Customer service is not consistent here. It's kind of frustrating.
The last three times I have gone to this store in Carson City specifically for their electronic coupon only sales that are advertised in their print ads and on their on-line page, the items have been sold out. I have been there on Fridays before 2:00pm and each week they have been sold out of the items. One time it was fresh chicken breasts and frozen chicken nuggets, one time butter, and the last time eggs. Each time an employee on the floor has said to check back later, they are expecting a truck. I have to drive over 15 miles to get to Carson City, so the idea of driving there to see if they might have recieved additional stock is not going to happen. Seems like simple bait and switch tactics to me. I have asked the managers on duty if they would substitute a similar item or if they offer rain checks and just get the same stock answer. Sales are limited to the specific sale item and stock on hand. Please check back before the sale ends. I would like to make the store management aware that each time I have left the store with $0.00 in purchases. I do not see why I should even bother trying to shop at this location. It isn't worth my time or the cost of gas when it is obvious you only stock a bare minimum of sale items.
Raley's is the store to go to for unusual food items you can't get elsewhere. Their produce tends to be a better quality than average although overall prices are higher too. Today they hosted Battle Born beer with a display and a tasting. Excellent representation and beer!!
We shop at Raleys in Carson City at least 3 to 4 times a week. There is a cashier that works in the mornings, and is often by herself. We were at self check out, and one of the machines was having an issue, we stood there for five minutes, I had waved to this specific cashier and said that we needed some help. She didn’t even look at us and said extremely rudely “I saw your light I’m the only one here” This again happened to my husband this morning The same cashier was on her phone, did not even look up and my husband timed it as he was standing there for five minutes. He finally went to another machine and checked out. This cashier did not even look up And just sat on her phone. The customer service in the morning at Raleys is lackluster and rude at best.
The store itself is nice albeit more expensive than Smith's. The meat section was good but again more expensive than other stores.
After one bite realized something was wrong, then looked at the date... EXPIRED MONTHS AGO. This store obviously doesn't take food safety and quality seriously.
I have shopped at Raleys in Carson City for decades. What is going on with the wine marketing? The selection is fabulous but in order to get an average price you would get anywhere else you have to buy SIX BOTTLES! Otherwise the prices are outrageous. No wonder the wine isles have no shoppers. I don't like making an extra trip to go elsewhere for wine but the prices are just too high for one bottle or two. There are less shoppers throughout the store. You have to work hard to select goods that have reasonable prices anymore. I would really like to see Raleys make a comeback.
Amazing store with lots of healthy food options. The employees are so nice and the store is very clean.
Well stocked and a great selection. The prices are higher than Walmart but I think for the quality it's fair. When my dad tried to bag our groceries I was so impressed that they insisted on doing it for us. You can tell they take good care of their employees.
