My room had bed bugs. I always check the mattress and behind the bed. You think I would have gotten a free night in one of their up-to-date rooms. I'm in New Orleans twice a month, and this was my preferred hotel. Well ,that was then, and this is now. Jasmine is great!!Hotel highlightsQuiet
As far as hotels in this price range in this area, it's better than most. Keep in mind things in this city in this price range aren't going to be premium quality. I'd give it a 3.5 if that was an option. It's not bad. Room was clean, there were your basic amenities: fridge, microwave, one cup coffee maker, toiletries. The ac worked well. No weird smells. All the locks worked. There are some cosmetic issues, like a missing knob and chipped furniture, but that doesn't concern me. There was only one free outlet, and that's inconvenient if you are traveling with more than one person. The biggest drawback was the tub. It's all painted over and chipping. You have to remove the drain plug when showering. It doesn't pop up and down. Strange because the bathroom looks pretty updated otherwise. The pool was cloudy and kind of green, but I swam in it and was fine : Everyone I talked to on the phone and in person was friendly and polite. It's above and beyond the La Quinta nearby, that's for certain.
This was normally our go to hotel in the area, but after our last trip, not anymore. #1, we had to report people smoking pot right out in from of kids & all at the pool, signs everywhere no smoking in the pool area, geez pot, really, #2, our hallway, between two rooms a couple down from ours smelled like pot continually, #3, they no longer offer breakfast vouchers for the connecting iHop. Safety: In a good location.
I travelled from India to New Orleans to attend a conference. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to visit and explore the USA. My stay at the Marriott Canal street ended in horror due to fungated Linen in that room. I went to some other hotels in New Orleans city to get a room but wasn't satisfied with the front desk, views and limitations on services. Finally decided to book a room here in Ramada Metairie for two nights. The lady at the reception was very nice and allotted me a room along with breakfast coupons. She dressed and conducted herself in a professional but firm way, which I didn't notice in any other hotel in New Orleans. The room was cosy and the bed was comfortable. The Linen was clean with adequate amenities provided. The room had a view of the motorway along with a water tank. This isn't the most modern or comfortable hotel in but it satisfied all my senses of being in an American hotel of which I had built-up in my mind through literature or cinemas. The biggest joy for me was the coupons provided for adjoining restaurant which was an Ihop. The quality and range provided in breakfast surpassed even the best five star hotels in the world. Even though I used a taxi to get to the city centre everyday it was still economical and provided better service per dollar than living in New Orleans city proper. If I had my own car or even rented a car I could have saved more money. Overall a very nice experience.
Decent prices. Near the mall. I needed an early check-in and I also requested a room facing the pool. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and was able to accommodate me. Rooms are in fair condition each with their own balcony, which is usually difficult to find. The balcony was dirty with cigarette butts and the biggest disappointment is that the pool was not open. We bought bathing suits just for it. Other than that, an okay stay. If they open the pool, may stay again.
Rooms are ok, beds are comfortable, service was decent. The hotel is in need of deep cleaning. About the stay. the whole second floor smells like weed. Rooms have balconies which sounds nice until somebody in the balcony next door starts yelling to the people in the pool.
