I have not stayed here but have friends who have. They enjoyed their time here very much as did I and my children when we stopped by for visits. The pool looks nice and the kids enjoyed it a lot. The location is phenomenal! Easy to walk to a whole world of wonders. Close drive to the airport, downtown, Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs! I think the chili pepper plants are beautiful which is rare and cool landscaping.
Hotel was super close to the airport, which was nice, but they say they have a shuttle, but they do not. They have a deal with a taxi company that will take you there for a flat rate, and the person working the desk was super nice, but when I booked, there was the rate, and when I paid, they tacked on an additional $105 fee. I called to cancel as this was out of my price range, and the hotel itself looks like a creepy hotel, so I wanted to pay for nicer accommodations, using the money they took. It was non refundable, and they said the extra fee was to stay competitive. That is ridiculous. The room was nice, but at 2 AM, other guests were banging on our door for no reason. 2 stars as the staff was super nice, and the room was surprisingly nicer than the outside lends credit to, but this is a place you don't want to stay if you need to make same day reservations due to weird additional charges, and other guests who seem shady AF.
My husband and I stayed for a night. We got a good view of the fishing boats. It could use some remodeling but the service was good. The breakfast in the morning has a good choice of selection for a quick breakfast. Definitely would stay there again.Rooms: 4/5
Good budget hotel. The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There are plenty of electrical outlets all over the room. AC/heater and openable windows. Bright LED lights. Functional bathroom, though for some odd reason the shower head was not screwed on properly so the first time I turned on the shower the water pressure blew the shower head off. Thankfully I was standing outside the shower and wasn’t hit by it, and was able to screw it back in place with no further issues. The room had a few scuffs on the walls and other minor cosmetic blemishes. Free breakfast is provided which included yogurt, bread for toast, prepackaged pastries, a make your own waffle station yay, my personal favorite that has been missing from many motels recently, cereal, coffee, and juice. It’s all available from 6:30am to 10am which is nice. Check in took pretty long because I showed up at the same time as a few other people and there was only one employee at the counter. She was friendly and efficient though, doing her best to keep things moving. There is a very small elevator which can fit two people and luggage, or maybe four people without luggage. Only being three stories though I was fine with doing the stairs except for when I had luggage with me. The property also has a pool though I didn’t use it. If you want to store a bag after checkout they can, but it was just done by setting it in a currently not in use meeting room which staff kept locked. It was secure, but they didn’t exactly keep track of which items you left or picked up. Location is very convenient. There’s fast food, sit down restaurants, a grocery store, and a harbor all within an easy walking distance. The area felt safe even at night, and is served by a couple bus lines going to Old Town and Downtown. There is an extra charge for parking if you have a car, but I did not so that wasn’t a concern. Overall I was very satisfied and would stay here again.
Booked ahead and asked for a top floor away from stairs, elevators, noise in general. Instead we get a bottom floor as close to the main road as possible. You can hear the traffic like it’s in the room with you. Plus when we left, we left the TV on, we got back it was off despite the “Do not disturb “ sign on the door. Ridiculous!Rooms: 4/5
Overall it was OK weird setup had to leave the hotel to go in through another area down a hallway our room was facing the pool however it felt like we were in a dungeon they tried to do some updating. Cleanliness was OK but not the bestRooms: 3/5
While the rooms may be small, they suffice. The sheet metal surrounding the bedframe make excellent noise makers for the kiddos. The staff was beyond friendly. The location to the fishing fleet and the airport is excellent.
Old musty rooms. Repainted many times but still smells funky. Secure premises close to airport. Didn't try the pool or anything but did have to buy myself toothbrush and paste for 5$ cash..Rooms: 2/5
