M. Edwin Ramsey currently practices as a Certified Public Accountant, sole-practitioner, with a staff of three para-professionals and an administrative assistant. His education was with Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis) and the University of Tennessee Extension in Memphis. He received his license of Public Accountant in 1964 and his license to practice as Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee in 1966. In 1958 he began the practice of public accountancy as an employee and later partnered with his father Morgan J. Ramsey, PA. As of 1966, he began his own practice and has been self-employed ever since.
The practice consists heavily of the consultation, preparation, and representation of corporate and individual income taxes. We also provide business accounting services, financial statement preparation and review, business management and financial management consultation, and computerized accounting consultation. We electronically transmit income tax data and returns to the IRS.
Mr. Ramsey is a lifelong Memphian. He and Sally have four children, all married, and they have eleven grandchildren and as of this date, five great-grandchildren. Their hobby is square dancing. Mr. Ramsey has taught and called square dancing for over thirty-five years and has regularly participated in programs all over the United States and in several foreign countries and remains very active in this hobby. In March 2000, Mr. Ramsey was ordained a permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church.
