Very friendly, country atmosphere. Good staff. Loved the look of the cafe. *Was a little odd to carry receipt from cafe to the gas station part to pay. Wonder if they've lost money with untrustworthy people just walking out without paying.
Great place to stop! I got there on a Sunday and had to wait till Monday to get unloaded! I had a delicious, warm meal in the restaurant, which was perfect for the -0 weather! Parking lot was clean and cleared of snow! It is a good place to stop in when going through the small town of Montpellier!
Definitely worth the stop! Prime dinner was delicious and not highly priced for prime rib. Waitstaff was fast and friendly! Kudos team!
Always have a seat available. Delicious meals all day long. You won't leave hungry. Portions are huge and great cost. Worth the drive, or worth the stop along your way. Friendly service. Great souvenir shop.
I had Paige as a waitress & she was wonderful! I met her in town and she mentioned this was just up the road and delicious so I HAD to go. This place is pretty affordable and they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner ALL day. It's attached to a gas station but it's a full restaurant. There is also a bar lounge but it was closed when I went. It's a little dingy sure, but the food, the food is so delicious. I got the cowgirl omelet with pancakes and I added a scone. I can't wait to go back! 9/10
The sign out front said seat yourselves but when we tried we were told we had to wait for a different table. We were a group of ten and there were two tables right next to each other that would be perfect. The waitress refused to let us sit and told us to go outside to wait. She was beyond rude and snippy. There were 5 open tables but they she obviously did not want to deal with a group bigger 6. I understand it was busy but they need to train their servers to have better manners and not be so rude!
Being from Texas and anyone who knows me, I take great pride in my steaks and anyone who can cook a great steak. With that being said, I must say I have now found the best prime rib steak I have ever had. Trust me, that is saying A LOT!! Clean environment, clean restrooms, clean showers. Has a very friendly and down home southern feel. You truly feel at home here. To my fellow drivers, there is plenty and I mean plenty of parking available here. Get parked, get showered, and get fed with very reasonable priced homemade southern style food. If I can ever make it back here, I WILL definitely stop here again, no doubt about it! Update!!!!!!! Well, here I am again roughly 2 years later and I never forgotten about this place. For most part, it's exactly the same. Great people with great food! I got in last night and again had the prime rib. Sooooo damn good!! I woke up and had breakfast. Was a wonderful breakfast of french toast, eggs, and bacon. Then, for lunch, there was a buffet because it was/is Father's Day. Absolutely amazing!! Dinner time, had the ribeye steak and I still agree with my statements from 2 years ago. This Texan is proud and full. Lol. I've told everyone I know of this place and I will continue to do so. I'm treated like family and this feels like home. Thank you to all the wait staff, cooks, clean up crew, and those that work in the store. Without you all, I'd be hungry and miserable. Thank you all for doing such an excellent job and giving me such wonderful experiences and memories. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the meals. I was hungry every meal time and the food smells way too good to try to stop and take pictures. Lol catch you on the next round!!
Not only is this a great place to stop and fuel up but to eat too. They also have a truckers lounge. Showers for guests are 10.00 and includes two towels. There store has a lot of everything one might need in an emergency. Stop by and have a great home cooked meal!
We decided to stop here for dinner and had the unlimited soup bar. They had clam chowder and pork noodle soup for their choices. Delicious! A lot of clams in the chowder. Our server was fantastic. We decided to go back the next night. I had the patty melt with fries and my husband had the French dip with onion rings. Again, the food was delicious. The portions are large. Our server the second night was great as well. I wish I had taken pics the second night. You won't be disappointed with anything you choose.
Our first time here. Dinner was good. We had the protein platter with hamburger steak, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Service from Alana was excellent.
