We stayed here almost 15 years ago labor day weekend In a cabin. had what we needed. enjoyed the campground.Rooms: 3/5
We arrived on Tuesday after Labor Day and checked out on Thursday. The setting was nice. There was a little traffic noise but not much. There was no staff on site during our stay. No firewood was available and the cable did not work. Everything is old and dingy.
Great place !! I've been coming for about 8 years now !! Could not be happier Rooms: 5/5
Great campground very private the smell of pine is incredible. Tina is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to help the people I would help gas, anything you would need in a campground.
Do yourself a favor dont do it. The website says pet friendly so we booked a cabin. At the time of this review, nowhere on there site does it say no pets in the cabins. After booking, they tell us no pets. They don't refund your full amount because of a "booking fee." We decide to use the booking fee as camping and set up our hammocks for a couple of days. When we arrive at 10p there were drunks all in the road, loud music echoing throughout the trees. It was hard to find our spot but there were trees for hammocks. We realized soon after setting up that this place was not a campground it was a trailer park. Drunks partying, music till 2am and some drunk messing with my motorcycle type of trailer park. So for love of all thats holy unless you want to be drunk and party stay away. Oh the cabins looks nasty on the outside dodged a bullet there.
We have been coming to Rancho Pines for a number of years. I have always found the owner to be very helpful even if it was personal camper problem. The people camping there were always friendly and seemed like a family atmosphere. I love the pine smell from the pine trees and the tranquil feeling I have when I'm there. The owners keeps the grounds and facilities very clean and orderly. Love the place and would recommend it to everyone.
My family stayed here last summer, we brought our friend from Spain. She loved it! It was her first time camping! Our favorite part was canoeing down the creek! Also very pet friendly. Our syberian husky also went canoeing with us she loved it! There is a place a little up the creek by a small waterfall where there is a patch of sand where we sat and it is deep enough for us to go swimming! Would love to go there again!
We've been coming here for 3 years and would never go anywhere else! The campground is located in a perfect spot to go swimming, kayaking, and fishing on the Schroon River. Also very close to the lakes near by. The owners are wonderful and great to deal with. I recommend all my friends and family to come here.Rooms: 5/5
We had a very pleasant stay at Rancho Pines. It is a quaint campground right on the Schroon River. If you are looking for a campground with crazy over the top attractions...this is not it. This is camping like it's suppose to be, hanging with family and friends by a fire, fishing, canoeing and swimming. It is family run by a sweet couple. The river is beautiful, the campground is surrounded by tall pine trees and there is fresh mountain air...what more could you ask for. My family will definitely be returning.
I am a light sleeper and didn't realize just how close this campground is to the interstate. I'm finding it very difficult to sleep, even with a white noise machine. Normal road noise is forgivable, but then a big semi goes by and makes a loud humming sound, shakes the ground and startles me awake. It's a nice campground: very quiet this time of year we came during the week 1sr week in October and I think we're the only campers actually using the bathrooms. Mostly RVs, many of them look like they've been here for months or years. My kid loved the playground. It's a nice little place if you can sleep anywhere.
