With limited days in Seattle I chose this as my day one hike. A tough one that’s uphill all the way but the reward is worth the climb. A 94 degree day made it even more challenging but the trail is very well maintained with plenty of places to stop and catch your breath. Speaking of breath, breathtaking views in many directions. A great hike. Very busy in summer.
I love this trail. There’s so much greenery as your hiking up. I love the big rocks all along the trail. Sadly we couldn’t see much of a view due to it been a rainy/foggy day but nonetheless we still enjoyed the fall like weather all the way to the top and back. I recommend this trail for any and everyone. If your a beginner is not that hard, it’s roughly 4 hike out and back so that’s moderate. Just take many breaks and past your self so you can enjoy this beautiful and well maintained trail. Parking: Enough parking for you to even show up late and still find parking Restrooms: There’s plenty of rest rooms at the park
The trail was in good shape the whole way other than just a couple trees you could get over easily. The trail to Rattlesnake Ledge was very busy. Ended up going to The Middle Ledge and then The Upper Ledge as well and only saw one person the whole time. It was kind of sad how dry the lake was but it was still pretty as always. Round trip 5.7 miles 1,470 feet elevation gain.
Great hike. 1100 elevation gain in two miles. And a gorgeous view at the top. There is a little lake at the bottom you can swim in. Very refreshing after a sweaty hole in a warm day Restrooms: Has multiple bathrooms near the lake and beginning at trail head
Loved it! The lake was beautiful, and the reflection of the ridge in the lake was beautiful. The hike to the top of the ridge was long, but not overly difficult going down was easy. The view from the top was breathtaking! Miles and Miles!Recommended activitiesHiking
This is a small hiking trail near Seattle. It is not very steep but not very flat either. The views from the top of the ledge are extremely good, and the close proximity to downtown Seattle makes this hike very compelling. I would recommend going to this place early in the morning as it becomes quite crowded after 10 am. Fees: Free Restrooms: There are restrooms at the start of the trail
Great morning hike. This one can get really busy, so I opted for a weekday morning. I actually had some quiet moments to myself on the trail. Only about 15 people sitting at the top when I got there. Beautiful views at the top, mostly shaded forest through the hike itself. Parking: On a Friday morning around 730-8 there was more than enough parking. By around 930-10, more cars were coming in and it was starting to fill up. Restrooms: They are there and open. Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs on the trail -- all leashed!
Very popular hiking destination for a 30-minute drive from Seattle. No matter what day of the week you come, it's filled with people of age group. The hike is very beautiful and has gradual incline, which is worth the views you get at the top. The lake itself is amazing with small trails all around. There are plenty of restrooms and parking. Hiking is rated as moderate. Parking fills up quickly in the morning, so be sure to arrive early.
It was an amazing experience once you reach the top. The view is stunning and worthy. It’s very close from Redmond area, just 30 mins drive. There are enough space for parking too. We enjoyed a lot. If you want, you can plan for swimming too in summer as we saw a lot people were swimming in the lake.
Beautiful hike. It is hiking straight up switchbacks. It's not too bad, but it can be a little tiring. It's definitely worth it. Just for anyone getting tired, just take breaks. The top is nice to take in the view. The hike down will not be as tiring as it is all downhill. If it is summer, definitely bring a swimsuit as the water is refreshing, not too cold.
