Beautiful Trustees property with miles and miles of trails, some carriage-path broad and flat and some more challenging, plus interesting topography and environments. No horses I love them but my dog loves them TOO much. Small parking lot at the south side, some street parking available. Generally less crowded than the trails at other forests nearby, like Willowdale or Rowley.
Beautiful little wood in Gloucester. Conservation area with vernal pools and several marked trails. The woods are about ten degrees cooler due to all the trees. Bring bug spray this summer: lots of rain this spring has brought lots of skeeters! One carried me away for a few minutes, but brought me back quickly - wrong blood type.
Gorgeous in winter dress. Can't wait to see it dressed for spring or cocktails . Well marked little paths without being overly marked.
Great walking trails for dogs and kids, very clean and peaceful
One of my favorite trail parks in gloucester. Couple different trails to walk/run good place to bring dogs along as you comfortable with other dogs some on some off leash depends on how good your dogs is cant control others but we haven't had a problem yet.
I grew up in Gloucester and have been to Ravenswood hundreds of times. I went up through Stillington road this time. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We actually ran into a few dog walkers. I guess I never really paid attention, as we saw dozens of frogs! Also mushrooms in every color. When we got to the top of the hill we could see the breakwater and the light house. Great place to spend a day.
Have been coming here since I was very young. Trails are great as they always lead back to the main path, there is maps throughout the trails, trials are clearly marked and there is different levels of difficulty but nothing too difficult. Also love it here because most of the dogs are off leash but be respectful if you see a person with a dog on the leash.
My favorite spot for a 5,000-10,000 step walk around in the woods. Different trails leave numerous sights and I can be content walking for hours. Lots of other people use these trails, and a lot of adorable dogs. It's always clean though, and people leave lost and found article of clothing and items dropped by previous trail goers at the main entrance. A sense of community on the trail.
Great hike. Just long enough. Interesting well kept trails.
A super great place for a leisurely hour walk. The parking lot holds two cars... but you can park on both sides of the street. Based on the weather and day of the week you might be the only ones on the trail.
