Saw this place and thought ooh a fun old western town themed place to visit. But no, they're only used as a place to host private corporate events and shows. So if you're an average tourist count this place out. Shame because it could be a really cool tourist destination
I have been to a few events at Rawhide and they do not disappoint. The most recent one I went to is Goldrush. Parking was a breeze thanks to the staff they hire to move cars along. Security check was fast and efficient, so less time waiting to get in and more time having fun.
2017 Review of Lights of the World For 2017, the Lights of the World Lantern Festival was moved to the State Fair Grounds, and is held in the parking lot. Enter from 19th Ave. Tickets are $15 each for adults, under 65. There is Senior Discount. Parking is $10; CASH only. Tickets can be purchased online or at the attraction entrance gate. If purchased online, they are good any night, and for one visit only. The festival will held each night until January 2, 2018, except for December 26. Hours are: 5-10PM. Oriental food can be purchased and tables are set up to eat. Portable johns are scattered across the grounds for your convenience. The area is well lit and there was no problem with safety. There is quite a bit of walking. The light displays were quite good, without too much loud music. The China Dragon was the most impressive. I still think we were a bit disappointed, enough to know that we will not go see this another year. The prices, plus parking, were too high for what we saw, even with the discount of $1.50 for the senior member of my party. And while this is Called Lights of the WORLD, the focus is clearly on oriental displays. They were quite nice, but we expected a boarder international flavor. It was a lovely evening for this and the photos turned out good, but this was a one time visit.
The Arizona Root Festival was a total win. It was amazing. Well organized on parking, drop off and pick up. Drinks were really good and fairly cheap. Food, well you could get anything you wanted pretty much. All the bands put up some great shows. It was awesome.
This place is laid out well for large volumes of people. I never felt overcrowded. I love their large, air conditioned barn for events. You can safely host over 2000 people in it. Great bathrooms.
Gold Rush was amazing! First Rave and what a memorable experience with my wife and daughter! It was organized and put together so we'll! The performers were beyond awesome! Would highly recommend for a show! Thanks for the memories!
This place was so much fun! My toddler loved it. They have fun shows including magic shows. Petting zoos, gold panning and train rides. We will definitely be going back!
Lights of the World Lantern Festival is currently at the Events Center. This is a magnificent display of Chinese lanterns, as well as Christmas light displays, a Chinese acrobatic show, and Chinese craft vendors selling and showcasing their talents. Open nightly, it is a bit costly, $25 for adults, but great colors and lights. Music is too loud and it clashes from one area to another, so bring ear plugs, but go for the photos.
AWESOME event center! : Really well managed, extremely safe with police officers everywhere, staff any direction you looked, and well run security check point before entering! They have a CLEAR BAG POLICY people, we saw SO many people have to throw away or go back to their cars to get rid of bags that were NOT CLEAR. So just be mindful! Event we attended was outdoors, so it was extremely spacious, water stations everywhere, tents at the back, and bathrooms easily accessible. This event center was an awesome experience and we enjoyed it a ton compared to other venues that are mostly indoors!
A great place to spend the day with the whole family! We come back every year.
