Charter 1976... Roots dating back to 1832
In 1832, Raymond Fire Company #1 was formed by a group of local merchants and willing residents of the community. Their efforts were the beginning of a life saving and property protection organization that has evolved into the department that you see today. The Raymond Fire Department services the citizens of the City of Raymond, MS and Hinds County. Raymond FD is 100% VOLUNTEER.
Volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain.
We, the members of the Raymond Fire Department, dedicate ourselves to the preservation of life, property, and environment by providing fire suppression, emergency medical care, and rescue services for our community. This mission will be accomplished by providing public education, continually working as a team, always striving to improve our knowledge through training and experience, and operating in such a manner as to be of service to our neighboring fire departments.
