Art Classes, Tutoring, Custom Framing, and Fine Art Sales
Art Classes:
Each session lasts 8 weeks, and meets once a week for 2 hours, total cost $275.
Pay as you go rate is $40 per class. Beginner and intermediate levels accepted.
Wednesday Morning from 10:30AM to 12:30 PM. Call for next start date.
Wednesday Evening from 6:15PM to 8:15PM. Each class will introduce students to artistic techniques in drawing and painting, as well art history through studying still life, landscape, figures, and abstract design Tutoring:
This a one-on-one learning experience for the more demanding student.
Adults: 2 hour sessions are recommended for adults.
Children: 1 hour sessions are recommended for children. We only tutor ages 10 and older.
Tutoring sessions are made by appointment and cost $60 per hour. Please allow 24 hours for cancellations. Two grace periods will be allowed for missed appointments before the $60 fee is forfeited on missed appointments. Children's classes are paid monthly in advance.
WORKSHOP: Life Drawing will meet periodically, cost $50 prepaid. Work from a live nude model and learn various techniques. This is one of the best ways to learn to draw, and we highly recommend it for all serious students. Call for scheduling information.
New Class Opportunity: Parent & Child/Teen Work Together: Come draw and paint. Buy one adult session at full price, and pay half price for your child from age 10 to15. Call for details.
Our Education Philosophy: The ages we serve are 10 years of age and older. An interview may be required for young students. Our class sizes are small and personal with plenty of attention given to individual needs. We believe anyone can learn to be a fine artist.
Students will use various tools and techniques to produce artwork starting with still life objects, such as bottles, vases, and books, etc. Then they will examine other subjects such as landscapes, free form designs, and human forms; once they have achieved a proven understanding of basic skills.
Learning strategies will encompass composition, proportion, symmetry, and color theory,
while producing artwork in pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylics, and oil paints.
Students will occasionally reproduce works of art by master artists, such as Claude Monet, Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, etc. Acquiring knowledge in art history, artist's techniques, and their lives is an important part of the learning process.
Advanced students will develop their own projects under supervision, and learn to construct a portfolio, as well as how to properly care for art and its presentation.
Workshops: are scheduled periodically and usually geared to special techniques such as collage, pallette knife, or mixed media art. They are a one day event averaging 2.5 to 4 hours, and are a good way to try something new. Look for announcements.
