I needed a plunger. They had many of the basic kind at a reasonable price. The guy who checked me out was proactive and gave me a couple of pro-tips, unsolicited. I am ever thankful for the man's expertise, kindness and outreach. It means a LOT. This is my number 1 hardware store now!
Well-stocked with broad selection of items useful for homeowners. The value here above and beyond an Amazon order might be slightly cheaper is frank advice. Items I’ve purchased recently include a six foot stepladder decent quality, a very well-made cable for my phone display near the tills cash register, WD40 with a folding spray extension. It’s an early bird business so best to plan a trip in the morning - they open weekdays at 7:00 - plan to arrive by 15:30 - they close at 16:00. Parking is often available on the road outside Main St or nearby in village parking lots.
This is your home town hardware and home repair needs store. They stock ample tools, cleaners, plumbing, electrical, paint, gardening, landscaping supplies to complete any project. I never walk out of this store empty handed.
Great Hardware store. Been going here last couple of times and the staff is very friendly and they take their time helping you as well. They even helped me shave a collar piece for my pellet stove. Home Depot might be bigger but the service over there is garbage. Readers here in Dobbs Ferry, is very friendly, great service, and take their time.
Used to be great, now you can't get what you need without listening to some conspiracy whacko spouting nonsense and wasting your time.
This is the best Hardware store around, period. They've been in business seemingly forever and are staffed with the most knowledgeable team I have ever come across. Bill and his team KNOWS every contractor tool, skill or trick that'll get you, the homeowner, through any project both large and small, inside or out. They can even recommend a contractor if you think you're in over your head. Just a great place to find home project ideas and solutions.
Short answer, best place ever. Long answer, see below... -Very well staffed, I've never been inside for more than a minute before someone asks to help me, no matter how busy they are. The best part is they know their stuff, and they want to help you. Think opposite of the H.D. experience... You know, spending 37 minutes just to find an employee who isn't running away when they see you, no matter how you try to get their attention... My go-to is politely shouting while wearing a reflective neon yellow vest with the flashing strobe and signaling by Morse code with a flashlight. Then IF you manage to get someone to acknowledge your existence, it isn't their section, and they have no idea what you're talking about... next thing you know, you've been there 2 hours, and all you needed was a box of nails and a hammer... yeah, its the opposite of that... -Extremely well stocked and diverse inventory. At anytime, you can pick up a gallon of paint, cat 5e cable, a jack hammer, a springform baking pan, some pool toys, and be done with enough time on the parking meter for the next If these guys don't have what you need, it probably doesn't exist.
Old school service, good prices and awesome selection and very helpful employees who actually care about helping you. I just wish they were open till later :
The staff is super attentive and if you prefer they will stay close by as you check off your entire shopping list. The kind of top notch service and plentiful inventory you look for in a great family owned hardware store.
Unlike the large chain stores, the store crew members go out of their way to help you find what you need. If you don't know what you need to buy, you just tell them what you are "trying" to do and they will go out of their way to find you a solution. The best service around, with products you would not think you would find in this type of store, from asphalt patch to Zinnia seeds.
