I can’t say enough about this school. My son has been here since kindergarten and I am in love with his growth, education and the support he receives from this school. The staff is friendly and they know you and the kids. I don’t think there is one kid the staff doesn’t know. I went to a local public school in Deltona and I don’t think anyone outside my teacher ever new my name. The teachers are communicative and on top of their students making sure they are where they should be academically, all of my sons teachers have kept me up to date on his progress and when they felt he was struggling they made sure to get him the help he needed. The assistant principal has her kids and teachers backs. I remember walking in one day to the office and I heard her saying good morning to all the students as they passed her. Her morning announcements prepare the kids to have a positive and happy day. I absolutely love this school!!!!
Reading Edge Academy is a wonderful school. In particular, it is an excellent school for your Kindergarten student to attend. Every Kindergarten classroom has a full-time paraprofessional that assists the main classroom teacher with a variety of tasks. The paraprofessional and classroom teacher can give your student more small-group and one-on-one attention because of this. All of the teachers are highly qualified and truly care about seeing their students succeed - not just in academics, but in everything that they do. The teachers are always available for parent-teacher contact and they send home detailed progress reports/report cards throughout the year. The classrooms are large and almost every classroom features a bathroom and water fountain for ease of access. Everyone from the front office staff to the cafeteria workers has a heart for making a difference in the lives of children. The teachers are supported and lead by an excellent team of administrators. Everyone is always more than willing to go the extra mile to support each other. Reading Edge Academy is a small school that truly makes everyone feel like family. Reading Edge Academy has all of the features that I will look for in a school when I have children someday. If a parent that is not familiar with Reading Edge Academy is reading this, my best advice would be to visit REA so you can see firsthand what an incredible school it is. You will not be disappointed. – Mrs. Spencer Teacher
Reading Edge has been a wonderful school for my child. The administration and teachers are genuinely invested in the students success. My child has excelled while attending Reading edge.
This school is wonderful. The teachers are so caring and truly love their job. I have had a great first year experience with my son in Kinder. Teachers are amazing and always willing to do whatever it takes to make students succeed. Very close knit and and loving all around.
Reading Edge Academy is the only school in Volusia County that staffs a paraprofessional assistant in the Kindergarten classroom. Extra help and another set of eyes come in handy with the young ones entering school for the first time. The teachers and staff are caring and kind. With small size classrooms, this is a great public charter school that will meet the academic needs of your child.
I am proud to say that this year will be my fifth year as a member of the Reading Edge teaching staff. The school's expectations are high, and we embrace core values of consideration, kindness, and forgiveness. I am grateful to our Administration and parents for their support as I work diligently to provide each of my students a safe and fun place to learn, and the support and attention that they need to excel.
Reading Edge Academy is an amazing school to work with. I originally started at their Samsula campus 3 years ago, after having worked for county schools for 5 years. I am now teaching at their DeBary campus. The teachers, administrators, and staff work like one big family. We support each other, encourage each other, work together, and enjoy being a part of the Reading Edge community. The administrators work hard to make sure teachers have what they need, families are informed about everything going on, and students learn what they need to know. We are one big team with one goal in mind, educating students to prepare them for the future. As a teacher, I've taught at several schools. Reading Edge Academy is an excellent school to be a part of. I can tell how much everyone enjoys being here. I enjoy working with the other teachers on my grade level, but I also get the opportunity to get involved in the other grade levels as well. I've been invited to watch holiday reader theater activities in second grade. We participated in an FSA celebration for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. There are many events to get families involved in their children's education. I enjoy when families join in and become part of the education process with their children. I am happy to be a member of Reading Edge Academy!
My son is in the 4th grade and his math teacher does an exceptional job of teaching him. Additionally his ELA teacher sees how strong he is in reading and continues to encourage to become even better.
I've dealt with this school in the past for two other children and, it was a struggle having to deal with inexperienced teachers. It seems as though when come to selecting the best teachers, they lack that skill. School year just started and already facing issues with some of these teachers. It takes a teacher with knowledge and experience to teach younger children and, instead of some teachers exuding authority, and working with children and parents effectively, they're concerned about one thing, I'm charge and I'll do whatever I want to do, wrong approach. As a teacher, you want to bring out the best in kids, have good communication skills with them and parents. It's not about how how nicely dressed you are, how much smarter you think you are or how, you much control you feel you manage. It's all about being a great teacher and making learning fun and being able to provide a comfortable learning setting for the kids, so they want to go to school and be the best they can. I'll be monitoring, as we go along. I guess when the Government fund these schools, the intent is to ease the Public Schools from vast overcrowding, please make it count. Blessings .
My son has been coming here since kindergarten and the teachers and staff are amazing. I could have moved him to a closer school but kept him here for the people
