I was very impressed by this hospital. I am from New York but now live in PA and have been to many New York hospitals . I was never treated with the kindness and consideration the staff showed me here. I am somewhat disabled and have trouble getting around. The nurses, security, all very accommodating. Thank you for all Of your kindness..so very important!
Went to the E.R. With my girlfriend to only have two nurses laugh at her situation and make it a horrible experience. We were there for almost 9 hours and experienced very little help. Now the nurses and staff that WERE nice made the experience better. No patient should feel like they are being judged while they are seeking help. Not to mention your security staff and other internal workers are absolutely miserable, nothing but snappy comments and attitudes while dealing with them. This hospital is minutes from my house and I will drive to another location in order to never go there again.
Will never go to this hospital for the emergency department again! Waiting room was so full and people were waiting for over 7 hours and still had not seen a doctor! Had a gentlemen next to me throwing up blood and could barely stand and he was basically pushed to the side I had to help him clean himself up! Everything I experienced there last evening was not any kind of care I would want for my family or any human being. I understand being short staffed but no reason is good enough for the way the emergency department was.
This is a great hospital. The nurses, Doctors and staff are amazing. They are very informative when you are having a procedure. The Doctors are very compassionate and take the time to reassure you of the procedure and the process. I would recommend this hospital to anyone seeking treatment. Parking is very convenient too.
I have been to these hospital conglomerates, Northwell, UHS, Endless Mtns Health System, NY Presbyterian and Parker Sayre PA. The Reading Hospital-Tower Health is the best by far. I did not have to wait to be assigned my own room, Nurse and Patient Care Advisor. PTA. The hospital is immaculate and rooms come with a free television, telephone cord for I-phone and tablet.
Took my wife to Urgent Care as her eye was swelling rapidly. They told us it wasn’t allergies and to immediately go to the ER so it didn’t get worse and damage her eye sight, Got here with her eye almost swollen shut and discharging. Almost four hours later she still hasn’t been seen by anyone… first time to this facility since moving to the area and will be driving out of the area from now on so I don’t have to pay an ER just for my wife to end up blind from not being seen and 18 people getting in before us who showed up well after us. Glad someone’s eye sight isn’t a priority but a kids stuffy nose is
I had my first child here and it was amazing and everyone was so helpful and great! My second time in l&d was same very amazing staff so sweet and caring. But must I say right when my feet hit the pediatric ward all the nice genuinely helpful nurses were gone. My baby had to be in the pediatric ward for a couple days and in those days I felt so belittled and judged by ALL of the staff. They also did not inform me once in the pediatric ward, no food will be sent to your room. Having another child Dad was at home with our other one. So it was just me and my newborn. None of the nurses ever tried to help me or him. No one ever offers to help me get food. Or checked up on us. They never tried to help me set up his insurance which he STILL DOES NOT HAVE. I give one star reluctantly because I had a great first experience. But any other kids I have or problems will absolutely not be coming back here and will be sharing my experience with anyone and everyone because no one deserves to be treated like that when there most valuable.
I was scheduled for an induction at 41w + 3D. My induction was suppose to start at 5pm but unfortunately they did not have enough nurses to safely start my induction. I was told I had to wait for 3rd shift nurses to begin my induction. While I appreciate medical staff putting patients health first, I wish they would've called & gave me the heads up before heading to the hospital. I had to wait 6 whole hours to start my induction. It was exhausting staying in the labor room for that long to do absolutely nothing & wait.. Anywho, I had a few nurses for my evening/overnight/morning in L&D. All of them were wonderful and really provided great medical care. I ended up getting an epidural around 2 AM with Robert F Early who was so rough with me & my body before starting the epidural. i wasnt in excruciating pain btw He lacked bedside manners and was pushing my body so quickly into position like I wasn't 41 weeks pregnant, dealing with contractions & sleepy from medication. I explained to him that he was being rough & to give me a minute to allow myself to get into the position he wanted me in. He then told me "I am not being rough"... nonetheless my epidural went well & I had no problems, just the anesthesiologist himself.. I ended up seeing a few different OBs during my stay all of which were super nice and gentle with me & my body. Dr. Anna Bossert, midwife Amber Evans, nurse Tiffany were all amazing women who helped me push for delivery & gave me all the confidence i needed to keep going, I felt strong having these women coach me through. THANK YOU AGAIN! Shortly after I was moved to the mother baby unit which was nice, spacious and you had your own private room. My nurses were okay and the care I was given post delivery was okay as well, nothing extraordinary. Seemed like the level of care decreased once i arrived to mother baby unit. But whoever is in charge of inputting the paper work for the babys birth certificate on mother baby messed up & needs to pay better attention to important legal paperwork given to them.. when i recieved my sons birth certificate in the mail, they put my husbands name as my middle name.. this was very upsetting to see knowing i provided the correct info on the forms... what an inconvenience for me to now send out additional info to PA DOH to get the correct info on my sons birth certificate... moving on, food service was alright, they had a decent amount of food on their menu. They do not offer guest trays for your spouse that stays with you for the night which is unfortunate.. They also have in house newborn photography which was nice, the photographer did such a great job! I def recommend doing the photoshoot. Nonetheless my experience at Reading hospital was good, especially my care during labor & delivery. I would 100% go back to this hospital to deliver again
I’ve been going to Tower Health since I was a little girl. I’ve had nothing but a great experiences with Family Health Care Center, DOB. However, the past few experiences with the valet manager and ED staff have been unprofessional. The valet manager was very aggressive when approaching me about a parking spot at the cancer center. I had an appointment for an infusion. When asking for his name and title, he snapped and shoved his badge in my window and continued to proceed by instigating. He took his anger out on me due to other people parking in valet parking. I informed him I would move. He continued to snap on me and watch me as I was moving my vehicle. Secondly, a nurse in the ED Check-IN on 01/26/23 was upset because I told her I would no longer answer her questions because she was very rude. She rolled me out on the wheelchair and told me “I need to respect nurses.” She became frustrated because I didn’t understand her question, I was in a car accident and hit my head? I respect all health care workers. I work with doctors and patients myself. Also, My mother is a nurse. No one should stand for unprofessional behavior or attitude while on the job. You maintain your professionalism. The ED staff when I was in a room were very polite and professional. I will maintain my relationship with Family Health Care Center and the Infusion Center; I no longer will be going to the ED any longer. This isn’t my first time in the ED Check-IN dealing with an unprofessional employees, Tower Health needs to address these employees behaviors. I’ve reported and addressed my concerns and feel nothing has changed. Although it is a bigger hospital, I rather go somewhere where I am respected, treated with understanding, and employees who maintain their composure.
I’ve had experiences at many hospitals across the country . Hands down, everything was excellent. Every doctor and every nurse were amazing , kind , considerate and never abrupt or rude ! I was super impressed !
