She is licensed to practice before all state courts throughout California as well as in Federal Courts in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego Districts. As a former Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, Ms. Houseman is an experienced trial attorney and courtroom litigator in the areas of family law and criminal defense. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from U.C. Santa Cruz where she was awarded a Faculty Mentor Research Grant as well as the Lyndon Baines Johnson Scholarship Internship in the United States Congress. She also spent her Junior year studying at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain through the U.C. Education Abroad Program where she became fluent in Spanish.
