All I can say is wow the staff at this center care about every patient sincerely. Morning beach walks started days out perfectly. Ms. Angie is the best tech they have! Melina lead the best classes. I have learned so much and would not take this experience back for anything. The apartments were nice, the cleaning staff did an amazing job. Also to anyone who goes to Recovery make sure you go to Sarge's meetings she will change your life. Thank you to everyone keep up the great work.
Great experience ! Loved the staff. Loved the detox unit!! Very comfortable place that helps one feel safe. They are very responsive to the needs of the client. Oh and great food !! My only negative experience is that after 28 days in residential they abruply stopped taking Blue Cross insurance. So I couldn't continue treatment with Recovery First.
Completed 30 day treatment program at Recovery First. The program was comprehensive and I left there feeling secure knowing I had the tools and after-care set up to help me continue successfully in my recovery. My therapist, Danny O., was indispensable during my time at Recovery First. Honestly don't know that I would have had the same outcome if it weren't for him!
Staff genuinely cares, The yoga classes and morning beach meditations were amazing. Great place to start the process of healing your body, mind and spirit. They actually allow you to have your phone which is quite the distraction if you ask me.Luckily I did have mine. They also continue to help guide you through recovery after you graduate and I met some very nice people along the way.
Amazing facility with professional and caring counselors to help you during your recovery. Fighting addiction is incredibly difficult but they give you the tools needed to beat it. They do an awesome job of showing you that a sober life can be fulfilling and exciting. From yoga and morning meditation on the beach to kayaking and water boarding, Recovery First and their employees go above and beyond to offer you interesting alternatives to the activities you want to leave behind
Recovery First saved my life. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m 19 years old, opiate addict. People wanna hear the negative reviews about places first- so I’ll start there. A little over 2 years ago, Recovery first partnered up with American Addiction Centers. Because of this, the lack of knowledge and ethics was horrible at R1st. They are currently changing a lot right now for the better- rules, regulations, code of conduct. There is a new assistant director, and he is very “neglectful”. He looks at rehab as a business which it should be but one thing you say to get under a staffs skin, or one time you mess up, he has the authority to discharge you. Which happened to me, and I had to fight for my life to stay there, which I did. There is also not a lot of communication with the staff they’re working on this, example- “what outside meeting are we going to tonight” staff responds “I don’t know, that’s not my decision”. On the more positive side to R1st, the group facilitators, therapist, doctors, nurses, & BHT are all amazing! They are all recovering addicts themselves and they know what we’re going through and get it. They were always there for me when I needed them. This place takes you to outside meetings, let’s you grocery shop, to the beach, to the Everglades, weekend outings, church, target, to the bank.. and THEY LET YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE!!! Even in detox!! Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone. This place changes your life. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to be given a second chance.
Recovery First saved my life. Marie with yoga, she did more for me physically and spiritually in 3 months then doctors had in 10 years. Melina introduced me to the 4 Agreements and meditation which led to a life changing experience. Andy was always there to guide us back to a life we had neglected. Ali with her music helped heal our souls. The staff are dedicated to our recovery, health, needs and security. I know their are lots of people I forgot to mention but are so fantastic and integral to my recovery that will not forget what did for me. Thank you one and all for saving my life.
Nothing but empty promises. The call center hounded me for weeks, even after I asked them to stop. They promised me an extended detox due to my circumstances but kicked me out less than 24 hrs after my initial taper was finished. About 4 days into my stay, my therapist had me sign papers saying I was sufficiently detoxed. After I realized what I had signed, I asked him to change it but he said we could always just change the dates on the paperwork. Then when I wanted to do so, he told me if I wanted to do that then I would have to pay $475.00 a day for extra days. They had more than 3 days to authorize an extended stay with my insurance but didn't do it. Aside from the shady business practices, they also had nurses who would consistently dispense meds at least 30 minutes late because they were on their phones. When someone is going through withdrawals, every moment is like an eternity. So, making us wait an extra 30 min to an hour, regularly, was completely unprofessional and lacking any compassion. When I complained to my therapist, he tried to spin me in circles by pointing at everyone else. He would tell me to speak to a certain person and that person would tell me to speak to another person and so on. I would recommend going anywhere else. Its like they were pushing us through like cattle. The only person I interacted with there was the actual Doctor. He was compassionate and tried to be as helpful as he could, even though the nursing staff seemed to not follow his orders.
The staff was very dedicated to helping your recovery. It's a very effective and efficient program if you're serious about your recovery .I learned a lot about recovery and even more about myself. I have lived with addiction through family and my personal addiction my entire life and I still learned something new every day . If you are searching for help and knowledge about recovery I strongly recommend Recovery First .
It was a great experience! It’s a nice break from the real world to learn new skills and participate in community groups. I learned more than I thought I would have. There is a very caring staff and they tend to get to know every client. All in all it was a great time. I was able to visit many new places and people I will never forget.
