Handcrafted Jewelry, Inspired By Nature
Red Barn Jewelry is more than just beautiful and elegantly natural jewelry. I created Red Barn Jewelry for the sole purpose of having a means of raising ongoing funds to support the Hill Tribe children and their schools in Northern Thailand.
It was in 2007 when I first stumbled into the tiny Hill Tribe village of Baan Kewsua on what I now refer to as my "quarter life crisis quest for enlightenment". Four years later, I left the village with so much more than I ever imagined, and yet still physically nothing more than what I could carry on my back.
While I was there, I helped raise money for the village, which in turn paid for the building a new dormitory, kitchen and English Learning Center for the school as well as ongoing projects like school supplies, first aid supplies and warm clothes for the children.
It was here in this village where I first learned to see the possibilities of capturing the beauty of the natural world around me in jewelry. Countless afternoons were spent with the women and girls of the village, who taught me how to make jewelry out of the most simple pieces: river rocks, broken pottery and even dull shards of broken glass to name just a few.
Today, building on what I learned from the women of Baan Kewsua, I have created Red Barn Jewelry as a means to continue to support this and other Hill Tribe villages. 15% of every purchase from Red Barn Jewelry goes directly to The Peace of Love Project, an ongoing project whose goal is to create educational opportunities that will in turn lead to self-sustaining futures for the children of the hill tribe areas of Northern Thailand.

Stacia
