Red Cedar Lodge

Great suites for the price. You get your own space along with a shared kitchenette and full bathroom. Better alternative than living off campus since public transit runs frequently throughout the year.

Good place to live, though very expensive compared to off campus. A lot of space compared to the normal dorms.

Visited a friend at Red Cedar and was shocked how small the bedrooms are in the suites-- they're basically over sized broom closets. I have lived in and visited friends at several on-campus housing buildings at a couple different Universities and Red Cedar is by far the most atrocious I've seen. Red Cedar is supposedly the best on campus housing at Stout so I don't even want to know what the other buildings are like. The suite layout is poorly designed and wastes a lot of space that could have been used for bedroom space. The fact that they don't have full kitchens is unusual-- U MN and Madison have full kitchens. I could understand if it was an old, outdated building but it's practically brand new so there's no excuse. What were they thinking? The amount of money they charge per semester could rent someone a very nice apartment with a kitchen and normal sized bedrooms in town so it's not like Red Cedar is cheap by any means. It's a shame really.

The vending machines here are more useless than an inflatable dartboard.

I love living here, especially suite style rooms and it's very quiet.

Great suite style residence hall on the UW Stout north campus.

It's a student dorm. Meh.

This place is overpriced and smol. SAD!
