My inaugural visit to Red Lobster was drawn by the appeal of their Ultimate Endless Shrimp. With an array of flavors like With seven delectable flavors on offer – including Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, Crispy Dragon Shrimp, Shrimp Rangoon, Walt's Favorite Shrimp, and Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, the options were tantalizing. The drill was simple: select three flavors and two sides initially, followed by two flavors per round. Each flavor treated me to six delectable shrimps. The server's warmth shone through, starting with a complimentary basket of their famous biscuits. A selection of $5 drinks heightened the experience, and I opted for a refreshing beer. Among the flavors, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp stood out for me. For those looking for a lighter option, the grilled shrimps hit the mark. *A word of advice: be prepared for a wait at the restaurant, both for seating and for the shrimps to be served at your table. Understandably, they might be understaffed, but the flavorsome journey is well worth the patience.
You get what you pay for so don’t expect much. The steak with crab legs was dry even though I ordered medium rare, there was a lot of fat in the meat that I had to spit out. Nice staff but slow service. I’d still go back just not often. I upgraded crab legs to lobster tail an up charge of $6 less messy. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, crayons and high chairs upon request.
I think this location has been around for close to over 30 years and the exterior shows it but the management and staff work to maintain the establishment well. We visited for lunch. Upon entry, the dimness of the interior is striking and takes some getting used to. Over time, your eyes will adjust and perhaps you'll notice how well maintained the dining area is. Atmosphere is upscale late 90s or early 2000s decor. Given the ecelectic diversity of the SF Bay area, the menu selection is somewhat limited, but Red Lobster is a national chain, so corporate management dictates what's on the menu. We had the fish tacos, fried flounder sandwich, fish and chips, & stuffed flounder. It took a while before the food arrived....perhaps the kitchen is short staffed. Overall the food is good. The cooks do what they can with the menu they have to work with... and the food looks presentable. Taste wise, nothing is bad. Service from our friendly waitress was good. Bathrooms are quite clean. Furniture and decor is well maintained. No weird smells. Not sure if the interior went thru a recent renovation. If it didn't, then kudos to the management for keeping the restaurant in very good shape. I think Red Lobster is still considered a "celebration" restaurant. For those who like seafood prepared and cooked the "traditional"way, and want to enjoy. A seafood meal in a nice cldan fault upscale setting, Red lobster in San Bruno will fit the bill.
I have not eaten here since the beginning of the pandemic. Surprisingly, not much has changed. The lobster tank is still there once you enter. It's still dimly lit. I'm not sure if they're going for the romantic theme to make it more intimate. The paint and pictures still look the same as well. The food was amazing and even better than what I imagined. The one difference is that if you order an entree, it no longer comes with a soup or salad. If you would like a soup or salad, you will have to pay additional Drink Blue Sangria - quite tasty. I hope they keep this on the menu Appetizers 1. Calamari - this is different from what they had before. I think it was strips before. This one was so light and crunchy. My dad liked it so much that he placed an order to go for home as well. 2. Crispy dragon shrimp - Crunchy and tasty. 3. Crab-stuffed shrimp rangoon - This was so crunchy and flavorful. For a minute, I forgot what I ordered. Entree 1. Ultimate Feast -Steak, lobster, shrimp scampi, and coconut shrimp. This was everything I remembered and more. 2. Steak and shrimp with loaded baked potato and french fries. Substituted steak for rib eye. This was a great idea to upgrade it. Ribeye was tender and juicy. It paired perfectly with the loaded potato. 3. Seaside shrimp trio - Classic but always a good choice. Especially if you live shrimp, shrimp, and shrimp. Service here was minimal. Our waitress never checked on us after giving us our food. The only thing good here is the fact that the food was amazing. I hope next time the service will be better.
The food has improved substantially and our server Sara was really happy n kind to us. TyRecommended dishesSurf and Turf Wednesday Special
Upon arrival one must wait to be assigned a table in my case it took a while and they went to others before the attentive waitress lacked a bit since on two occasions she forgot some sauces but the food was delicious with good portions and quantity necessary. I think the drinks are not his forte since they are not as exquisite as they were read
We got the lobster, salmon, and shrimp plate. Seems like they gave a baby lobster...too small for price, even for the Tuesday 2 plate deal for $62. Salmon tasted bland. Shrimp and Lobster tasted good. They gave more fries than seafood!
My kids took me here for Mother's Day. The service was AMAZING and so was the food. We waited to be seated for about 25 minutes which wasn't bad considering it was Mother's Day. We got seated at around 8:10 and got our food about 30 minutes later. It was hot and my steak was cooked to perfection . The staff did not rush us as they closed at 9:00. When we asked for to go containers, our waiter asked us if we wanted desert. At no point was her trying to rush us out. This is the second time I've been here. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a great Mother's Day dinner!
I took my family out for a Sunday meal but the service was one of the worst I had in my entire time living in the Bay Area. First she brought the drinks for everyone but not my son 5years old and it wasn’t anything difficult just an apple juice, we were waiting for more than 20 mins until my mother in law decided to go to the bar a get it for him. After that I ordered a top sirloin MEDIUM RARE and we I tried it it was MEDIUM WELL. When I told her about my meat she tried to convince me that that was cooked perfectly until I show her a chart with all the meat types of cooking, and then she admitted it was more cooked than it should be. I ended up not returning my plate and to finish I asked for the manager and never came to talk to us. I work as a branch manager and every time I have a customer not happy about anything equipment, service, pricing, etc. I go and solve the situation to make our customers feels like they are being listening and we care about them. If you read all this and saving you some time and money. I think that’s the reason all this places are going out of business and every time you can see they are less busy than ten years ago.
Overall the food was good but not blow my mind I’ve got to eat here again good. The biscuits were a tad salty I think. Service was good and was attentive. We were a large party so not sure if that affected the attention to detail.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
