There were 10 of us. Generous portions at a very fair price. Favorites were chicken and biscuits, liver with onions/bacon, Virginia ham slices with fruit sauce, haddock, I personally had sliced London broil with mushroom sauce that was cooked rarish and tasted Devine. Baked potato and fresh salad. Lentil soup was perfect. I real mashed taters. Husband and another gentleman for the lamb and both didn't feel it was tasting like lamb so much. Onion soup was mediocre as was the coconut cream pie. Too much whipped cream but it sure was pretty. Didn't know about the free strawberry shortcake so shortchanged on that Very nice, efficient waitress. We'll definitely go back to try more dishes. 80% was perfect. We felt bad about the construction cramping their business so wanted to help boost them up. Hope we weren't too loud.
Been to Red Oak three times now and make it a point at least once each time I am in Binghamton. The staff is freindly and the service is good. The menu is very diverse with something to please everyone. The steak and eggs is a bargain and gets the day started well. Had the lamb roast as well. A generous portion, cooked to tender and very flavorful.
The service was very pleasant & the prices... fair, our waitress Heidi was very attentive and polite. However, the Clam chowder tasted like potato soup, that was disappointing. Yet the Liver & Onions were on point! ...as well as the Coleslaw! We'll be going again for sure...
Lovely interior, great waitresses! I loved the food I ordered, but was disappointed with the sausage gravy. It had an odd taste I couldn't identify.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! The food was good but the staff was AMAZING. They were so understanding and went out of their way to make us feel welcome even though our toddler was throwing a fit. After he ran around and played with the waitresses we were able to all sit down and enjoy our lunch. Great experience!!
Good food for great price in a down to earth cozy little place. They always have different specials daily. I am always happy when they have the beef stew on the menu. The wait staff are always super friendly and prompt. It is a shame they have to put up with all that construction outside their business for so long. It is not fair to them. I brave it and I hope you do too.
The Red Oak is a nice beautiful place. Very clean. The waitress my fiance and I got was very very nice. She made sure to check on us to see if we had any added needs besides our order. The food was good although I only had french toast for the starters. But I can say that because the french toast was good I'll be going back to try other things on the menu. It was a really nice place. My fiance and I enjoyed it very much. Give it a try. The lady that took my check was even asking for us to please come back. I was very impressed I felt very welcomed.
Went seeking a diner while in the area for a hockey tournament. We were thrilled with this choice. Plentiful seating meant the intimidating full parking lot wasn't an issue. A fantastic looking menu that was confirmed by our choices. The prices were extremely reasonable. On our next trip out, we'll be looking to revisit for sure.
Menu has a lot of choices. Prices, are very good. The food was great Service was excellent. We had two different group gatherings there today, we are very satisfied; 28 for lunch and around 40 for dinner. Both groups will be returning next year! Thank you Debbie, Barb, Joanne and Judy for a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
We went there on our way to NYC just before the new year. We picked the site due to its proximity to the I-81. We were all pleasantly surprised, plenty of home made dishes, warm bread and even a glass of wine. The service was also good. When it comes to dinners, this is one of the best I have been. My husband and I look forward to stop by it again on our next road trip.
