I was on a visit to this facility. The owner and staff were very friendly. Owner alloeed me to tour the facility and explain the food making process and their distribution logistics. Before Wednesday, I had no idea Red Smith Food was the one making pickled food and sell to Louisiana. Thumbs up.
I need to speak to someone in mangerment about a safety issue of thier Big John's red hot sausage..recently i bought a jar of them from my local grocery store..the freshness seal was halfway off so i took it back to the store to change it out fearing that someone had tampered with the seal.Of course, they were more than willing to let me change it out but when i went back to the shelf to pick out another one,i i open up two more and they were loose too..i picked one from the very back and it was loose..i don't know if this a manufacturing problem. at the plant that these seals aren't tight or someone is tampering with your product.. please jump on this immediately to see why..i don't feel safe eating one until then.
Johns got a soft sausage.
Used to have a graet snap to them and better taste , I grew up in the 70S and love them , now they are called big John an now they suck , it's not what I grew up on for sure and no good snap and taste like old school sausage !!!! Why ???
Love their pickled skinless Big John sausages! Very nice flavor and not smoked like many others.
Very nice and friendly also got in and out fast thanks so much for the best service
