REfinery opened its doors at its present location in July, l989. We believed there was a need in Baton Rouge for an upscale children’s consignment shop. We were right! REfinery was a success from the get-go. We are proud to offer the best selection of gently worn better label fashions for newborn through children's size 10 and the mother-to-be. We also carry baby furniture and accessories and toys. Our fine reputation has grown. Loyal customers and consignors come from all over Louisiana, Mississippi and surrounding states. If you have wonderful things to consign, we can turn them into cash, fast! If you have expensive taste and smart money, we are the place to shop!

I absolutely love love love this place. The store is clean and organized and the prices are amazing!
The ladies were all so sweet! The place is small and not really stroller friendly it was a tight squeeze but still do-able but it was perfect! Everything had a place which is nice for a place that has SO much! They even have a little space for the little ones to play!Plus you can't beat their prices!!! I can't wait to go shop again! The only negative was it is difficult to see from the road. I passed it up and had to turn around. They just need a street sign!!
Wonderful owner and employees. Always organized and very eager to help with whatever you may need. My son LOVES to play while I shop! They have EVERYTHING any mother could ever need for their child at prices that are affordable, and even tho they are used products, they take pride in how clean the products are! Thanks, Ms. Wendy, for opening such a useful boutique! You have really done a great job these past several years!!!!
I've never felt so judged by any employees of any store as I did by those working at ReFinery. Instead of being greeted with smiles by the staff, I was greeted with glares as I walked through the doors with my 15 month old son happily seated in his stroller. Apparently children are not welcome in the store no matter how well-behaved they are. They made me feel so uncomfortable that I left after less than five minutes in the store. It baffles me that a store that exclusively carries items for babies & young children would look down upon a mother trying to shop with her child. I will never go there again and will advise my friends and family to stay away from there as well.
The boutique has gone down tremendously. The staff is so rude, specifically the girl named Lindsay. When the owner is there, she pretends to be professional, but when the owner is not there, good luck on being greeted as you come in. She is a negative addition to a great boutique and the other ladies appear to just follow her lead. You can see in their faces that they know that she is treating the customers wrong. I started selling my things online because of her employment. The boutique wasn't like that before she started working there, toxic.
I highly recommend this store to anyone!! The staff is very professional & friendly, they're more than willing to help with any questions or needs. REfinery always has the best selection of clothing that are in great condition! I never have to worry about getting home to find stains, rips or missing buttons.
The tall, younger, black woman working behind the counter was inconsiderate, rude, bossy, and unprofessional. Not only did she lack manners, but her shirt was not completely covering her backside which exposed a few of her back rolls. Very distasteful. I went there last Thursday, and bought a few outfits, bows, and a baby carrier. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I went back with my friend Monday, and she bought a bouncer, LSU outfit, and smocked dress. Very nice clothing, and the staff was once again friendly. I went back yesterday to try and get rid of some of my daughters things she didn't need and was treated BEYOND POORLY. I went into the store yesterday with a handful of clothes that were on hangers in one hand and a bagful of clothes in my other hand. Noone was at the counter. I asked the lady standing next to the counter if she was also selling, and she said yes. Then the above-mentioned lady comes to the counter and says hi to me. I told her I wanted to sell my items. She snapped, "you have a group ahead of you." That I already knew. I said ok. She asked if I had sold to them before, and I said no. She handed me a form to fill out. Their counter was covered with closed, plastic bins. I laid the clothes that were on hangers on top of one of the closed bins. She snapped, "mam, you cannot put your stuff there. I need you to pick it up and put it in a bin." So I picked my stuff back up. I wouldn't talk to my dog as rudely and bossy as she did me. She then hung a plastic bin off the side of the counter, and told me, "just leave it on the floor." I had my stuff in my hands since I had been reprimanded like a child and apparently broke some sort of company rule by sitting my stuff on the counter. Where was this bin before I was asked to fill out the paperwork with the hangers and bag in my hands? She gave me the stink eye as I put my stuff in the bin she was dangling off the counter because I didn't put the bin on the floor then put my stuff in it! I was so befuddled by the experience that I left my purse in the bin accidentally. I will tell my friends, and anyone else I meet that I was treated poorly, and not to shop there. I will not be bringing my high chair or stroller there, either.
This is a great local store! The items at the REfinery are gently used or new but always clean looking and in great condition, which hasn't been my experience at the big, national chain stores. The owner is very nice and always helpful too.
Best place to get smocked and boutique clothing. I am always greeted with a smile every time I visit this store. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone that is looking for top of the line, clean children's clothes, toys, or furniture that they shop at Refinery.
I've sold and bought from here a good bit a couple years ago they were great now they are AWFUL! Worst customer service I have EVER dealt with flat out rude and now they barely take anything and what they do take they rob you I've seen my stuff in there where I was paid 2.00 and they have it listed for 20! All of my business will be going to Once upon a child from now on!
