Very delicious dimsum, made in house, just all around delicious. We liked everything we ordered.Food: 5/5
We came here for dim sum on a Sunday morning around 11:30am. At first the host told us we would have to wait he didn’t know how long because we were a party of only 3 adults and the 4 tables he had available seated 7+ people. I decided to look at other nearby options Jade Garden and Kim Son, and as we were discussing the other options the host decided to seat us. The service was generally fine - we were able to order, receive our food, and pay the bill without too long of a wait. When we asked for tea, water, and a knife to cut the larger items, everything was brought to us promptly. The food was a disappointment compared to when this restaurant was at its former location. The soup dumplings looked as if they had been sitting out for a while after having been cooked, their wrappers were hard, and they contained no soup. When I asked a server whether those were actually the soup dumplings, she said they were. Then I mentioned that there was no soup in them, and she nodded, looked a little embarrassed, and said that’s the way they are here at the restaurant. The shrimp har gow and shrimp rice noodle rolls were both overcooked, resulting in mushy wrappers that disintegrated when we were trying to serve them. The steamed char siu bao buns did not taste fresh, so we each tried a bite but left the rest. When we mentioned this to the host who seemed to also be the head server, he took them back to the kitchen and removed them from our bill. The baos also didn’t have much filling, so overall they were a big disappointment. The food that did meet our expectations were the Chinese broccoli, turnip cakes, and bean curd pork rolls. The Chinese broccoli was topped with fresh garlic in white sauce rather than the usual oyster sauce - I really enjoyed it! It was also a very large serving - we only finished about half of it at the restaurant. The turnip cakes were solid, and nice and crispy on the outside just like I like them, although they forgot to bring them out until the end so we were pretty full by the time they arrived. The bean curd pork rolls were also delicious, but they were also forgotten until we mentioned it so they came out at the end of the meal and we were already full. The restaurant ambience is functional. The chairs are grand - fancy fabric and tall backs. However, the tables are covered in plastic tablecloths for dim sum at least, and the lazy Susan turntables look like a fake jade. The tables and chairs are crammed into a fairly small space, and the majority of the tables seat at least 8 people. There are tons of boxes and other detritus in the hallway leading to the restroom, which can be seen from half of the restaurant. The bar is overflowing with takeout containers and a register, which makes it unusable as a bar. There is also a huge machine that looks like an air purifier sitting under part of the bar - it would be helpful if they removed it when it’s not in use. The restrooms are terrible - the large roll of toilet paper is placed haphazardly on the handicap handrail, and the roll of paper towels sits on the wet counter of the sink. The hand soap is in a dispenser that was originally for hand sanitizer so you’re not really sure if it’s soap or sanitizer until it actually suds. I used to love Regal when it was on Hwy 59 - the food and ambience were so much better. I was so sad to not enjoy our dim sum this morning.
This is my first time here at the Highway 6 location and 2nd time eating here since I first visited it at the Fountain Lakes location. I was excited to visit because of the Dim Sum being in Sugar Land. So here are all the dishes I like: Pork & 1000yr old Egg Congee, Radish cake with XO sauce, Steamed shrimp in rice roll, Fried salt & pepper shrimp roll. Here are all the dishes that lacked seasoning and flavor: Chicken feet, shrimp and chive dumpling, Siu Mai, Tofu skin wrapped roll. The beef tripe had seasonings but it was a taste I didn't enjoy. I'm used to the ginger sauce and I didn't taste it here. The lobster sauce was lacking in flavor as well. For me I wouldn't come back again for dim sum. I was hoping to have a decent dim sum restaurant close to home but most of my favorites dishes was lacking in flavor. Looks like I'll be sticking to China Town.
My hubby and me found the food very delicious! It seems to me that I have not been eaten good Chinese for long time compared with I had before : I am glad that Regal is closed by now!
I am from Hong Kong and, believe it is the best "Dim Sum and Seafood Restaurant" in town. We have dinner tonight with my out of town friends. The food is amazing in both quality and quantity. These are some of the wonderful Crab and Lobster dishes. Come try, you will not be disappointed!
We had lunch n the food was great! Lobster noodle n bitter melon/eggplant/tofu with pork/shrimp. Fabulous!
We had a birthday party on Sunday evening; we had about 20 people and over fifteen dishes. They were so disappointed. None of them were good at all; either salty or not flavored. I definitely will not go back there for a very long time.Food: 1/5
We mainly tried this place for the dim sum which was just average. Favorite items we tried were the Chinese broccoli, Sesame balls, custard bun, beef noodles, and fried rice. Would like to try the duck next time. Nice service.Food: 4/5
Came from Austin hunting for some good Dim Sum/Guang Dong dish. Was planning go to Fung's Kitchen but it's closed. My local friend recommended me to this place and it was a surprise to me, totally beyond the expectation. The food was cooked fresh, tasty, slightly sautéed with most of their originally flavor being kept. Strongly recommend.
just came here last night. place was dirty. rice was served in an ice bucket. AND also got food poisoning. nauseating. no shame, but i could not stay off the toilet all last night and still this morning. what a freaking experience. i am also not the only one in my party who experienced this either
