Genevieve "Nev" Levin is a Multipotentialite. Her core belief about the world is that we are all connected through pattern both visual and contextual and she is passionate about discovering that connection in her work as a henna artist. Nev's henna work appears in books and magazines all the way around the globe to China. Other credits include co-collaborating on the multi award-winning short film "Unchastened.” Features in the New York Times, Wedding blog and The revised edition of the art of Mehndi by Sumita Batra. Certified with the ICNHA (International Certification in Natural Henna Arts) since 2004, Nev is also a multi-media artist working with acrylic, paper, fabric, found objects, and all things that shine. After earning her BFA ('97) from The Maine College of Art, she spent nine years working as a studio potter and art educator, assisting people with special needs, the elderly, teens and adults to enhance their lives through creative expression. In 2006 Nev made the decision to pursue her dream of running her own business and has since been a full-time henna artist. Her success with two businesses, ReMarkable Blackbird and Blackbird Soaps has been well worth the initial risk.
She is a seasoned presenter teaching at Spring fling, The henna intensive and HennaCon(6 years). Well versed at teaching for schools and library programs as well as more intimate settings teaching one on one. She finds the most joy with her work with mama's-to-be for belly blessings and people reaffirming their beauty after trauma.
