Renegade Art Gallery, formerly located in Palm Springs, features contemporary art work, and is currently in the process of relocating to a new home.
Renegade Art Gallery
Exhibiting a wide range of styles and media, Renegade Art Gallery embodies the vitality and freshness that has come to typify the West Coast art scene. Renegade brings together a group of painters, photographers, ceramicists, and mixed media sculptors connected less by theoretical similarity than by a shared energy. They reflect a glimpse at the cutting edge of emerging and mid-career artists from the desert to Los Angeles as well as places such as Portland, Alaska and Colorado. Renegade encourages the experimental, the fringe, and strange, as well as work displaying academic and theoretical training (many of our artists are graduates of top-tier institutions like UCLA, Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and Northridge).
The progressive artist co-op business model of Renegade art gallery challenges the rigidity of gallery practice. Offering a silent auction on work engages the market directly with the artists, allowing collectors to place competing bids on artworks. This simultaneously provides affordable options for art ownership, while ensuring that the art itself commands the price it deserves. Renegade operates under a philosophy (confirmed by our ever-expanding clientele) that the work speaks for itself. At each reception, viewers can bid on art or opt for the Buy It Now price and own the piece immediately. At the end of the evening, all silent auction winners are
revealed. Bidders are not required to be in attendance to secure a piece if they reach highest bidder status and will be notified in the days following the reception.
Housed in an amazing single story example of urban architecture designed by the brothers E. Stewart Williams and Roger Williams in 1956 (designers of a home for Frank Sinatra in 1947, and the Palm Springs Desert Museum in 1976) and recognized by the Historic Site Preservation Board, Renegade Art Gallery is strategically located on the southwest corner of North Palm Canyon Dr and Vereda Norte and at the mouth of the east entrance to the legendary Las Palmas area of Palm Springs.
