I highly recommend renting a car here! The cars are all very nice and the rates are quite reasonable. Dave, the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. I rented a car for a month from him 10 years ago when I first moved to LA. A couple of years ago my mom rented from him for 6 weeks and he remembered me. She rented again from him recently and at one point couldn’t figure out how to unlock the steering wheel so Dave drove across town to unlock it for her. Dave even helped me get my own car fixed when I was in a recent accident. Great place!

If you don't believe in the LA dogma that "you are what you drive", you like the idea of giving a second life to an older car, and you want to save money, this place is where you should rent next time. Dave and his team know the drill, and will make everything easy for you with no unuseful extra insurance. Yes, the car will not be brand new, yes, there will be some bumps and scratches and maybe you'll even feel slightly uncomfortable to hand the keys to the valet at the Sunset Tower, but it will work just fine and you'll be that cool dude who doesn't give a sh*** what people think.

I've rented from Dave about 5-10 times over the past five years and now cannot imagine renting anyplace else. The personal service is amazing. This is a real mom-and-pop shop. And Dave is cool. He's a real original. Most of his employees who I've met have worked with him for at least a decade. The Rent A Wreck cars I've rented have always been totally fine. They might not win any beauty contests, but they're clean and run beautifully. And I really appreciate getting picked up at the airport for free, being offered a banana and a bottle of water by Dave when I get to the office, getting a GPS for free, and the amazing rates, especially for long-term rentals. Call me a hundred percent satisfied with my experience with Rent-A-Wreck, which I've found vastly preferable to the corporate horror of any big chain around these days.

Man did this place help me out tremendously! They gave me a super sweet deal on a rental that I needed for a month after a bad car accident. It wasn't anything fancy but it got me around sufficiently and when I needed to extend the rental for another month they were so understanding and accommodating. Very friendly and overall great experience.

I love writing positive reviews for a business that doesn't ask me to write them a positive review. These guys are incredible. I've been renting a car in LA, bouncing around all the big agencies, for the last couple months. Today's experience made me realize exactly how renting a car should be. Impeccable customer service and just straight-up nice people. Can't recommend enough. Oh And the prices are by far the best in the area.

Great experience-- Couldn't be happier! Dave is awesome -- He gave my son great pointers for driving safely in LA and is a genuinely nice person. Great prices, awesome people, very flexible and accommodating...I can't say enough good things!

I've been customers of many different car rental companies in the past and I've got to say that this is the best car rental experience by far. Dave The owner told us to give them a call right as our plane landed and they arrived right away after we pick up our luggages. His employees were very welcoming and even helped us plan the rest of our day efficiently because we were unfamiliar with LA traffic. They took necessary time to make sure we had our insurance coverage before sending us off onto the road. Their price is far cheaper compared with all other competitors. With the young drivers fee and the additional 200 miles that we've surpassed, everything only costed us under $475 for 9 days! Lastly, Dave is very considerate and knows his customers needs as he has been in the industry for 60 years. He kindly offered us water bottles upon our arrivals pick up & drop off car. In addition, other competitors typically charge you for a late drop off fee, we dropped off our car 4 hours after the required drop off time and they did not charge us extra. At the end, Dave offered us free Lyft ride to our next destination after returning the car. You will not receive this first class car rental service anywhere else besides with Rent A Wreck! Owner Dave is a great guy, super nice guy. He now rents new/nearly new vehicles, but is also the inventor of the original Rent-A-Wreck concept, years ago. He goes above and beyond to make things fun/easy for customers. There are many businesses that are just businesses, others that you leave with a special feeling of joy. Dave's is the latter.

If you have to fly into LAX airport for a trip out to that area, check out this place for YOUR car rental. I checked out the regular nation car rental outfits and then saw this place on the internet. I am on a tight budget so this sounded a reasonable way to go. I read the reviews and decided to give Dave a call. Dave answered the phone and asked what size car I needed, I asked him about price for a month’s rental and if there was an extra charge to add my wife as second driver. To my surprised he said NO extra fee! That alone saved me around $300 compared to the national rental outfits. Things even got better from there, for he said they would have a person pick us up at LAX and drive us to their place to pick up the car. Taxi fare out there is sky high and when we return the car would get us back to the airport! When we got to Dave’s place the people there had the car ready and paper work to sign. They offered us bottle water for they realized the time we spent waiting on baggage and drive to their place we might be thirsty. They then went around with me showing me the dents on the car so they could compare it to any damage I might cause up retuning the car. They did show me the main points of the switches, lights etc. of operating the car. They then gave us diving direction to our destination. We had a 2000 Lexus which had more fancy things than I expected, I was use to manual day-night mirror this car had an automatic sensor to adjust the mirror! One morning the car would not start so I called them and they sent a man to check it out determine the starter was bad he had a different car with him for us to use. He then called a tow truck to take the car and him to their place. When I returned the car, paper work was cleared up. The same person drove us back to LAX, which was a major head ache to drive as I could figure out. I was very relieved that I could just sit back and relax to the airport. I was pleased with both cars we had, clean and ran fine, they said that was 1st problem they ever had with the Lexus we had since they got it several years ago. I strongly recommend renting a car from THEM. The car’s performance is not impaired by a few dents, and might even save it from being stolen out there. For sure YOU will and save some bucks and have a car that runs.

A+++ experience. We got a simple KIA, which drove well. The guys working there were super friendly, offered us complimentary ice cream, water. Pickup/drop off of the car was smooth. It took just a couple minutes. And they even got us an Uber to LAX for free. A+++
