Got there at game time and had to park literally at least a mile away from the stadium and we still had to pay $20 for parking. I think that is outrageous to not only have to walk like 20 minutes to the stadium then all the way back to your car and pay $20.....it should at least be like $10....or hey, how bout this....free!? And the Huskies suck again this year. I can probably throw better than their QB. We left the game at halftime......smdh
Nice facility. Seats about 40k. Large concessions area with good variety of options. Traffic management for exiting the stadium could be improved.
My husband and I attended the USA vs. Germany friendly soccer game yesterday, October 14, 2023. My husband paid for two seats through a known third party ticketing company. When we arrived at the game, we realized that we were assigned a seat and a standing space beside it. When this was brought to the attention of a stadium representative, she advised us that the space was for a wheelchair. Nowhere on the seating map or diagram was there any mention of wheelchair access spaces, let alone to mistakenly select that type of ticket. Our payment confirmation clearly stated; 2 seats, for the identical price. My husband had to stand for the entire game. To compound that, stadium security asked to see his tickets, at least three times throughout the game; proving his eligibility to stand in that area, as there were so many random people loitering in and crowding the area. The requests to show ticket was both disruptive and frustrating, for obvious reasons. Although our tickets were not purchased directly from the stadium, we believe that they have a responsibility to ensure that third parties representing them, are equipped with accurate information, to prevent false advertising, and inconvenience.
Such a great stadium not a bad seat in the place!
Must say there are more advanced stadiums, and this does require some desperately needed upgrades, but it’s such a great venue for CT with really no bad sight lines. And handicapped parking is seating is very accommodating.
I always enjoy Uconn games at the Rent. I just wish the team would win. Good food choices, but getting a tad bit outdated.
We came here to watch the Germany USA friendly and my friend is a recent amputee and has still a hard time walking longer distances. There was NO assistance to get disabled people from the parking lot to the stadium. There were 10 golf carts sitting around, 7-8 CSC event staff people standing around, and they refused to drive my friend 200 yards from the lot to the entrance gate. Not even the fire department assisted us. They did borrow us a chair to carry to the gate so my friend could sit down and take breaks. Inside the stadium was not much different but we did end up finding a wheelchair after 20 minutes asking multiple staff and nobody knew anything. By accident we found the EMT office which had wheelchairs available. Complete $hit$how. Perfect example of "sorry, I can't help, I only work here".
This place has a problem with their operation. I can complain about the seats or the extreme prices for food and drink, but that stuff is normal for sports stadiums. This big problems with this place are parking and what you can or can't bring into the stadium. One, the parking process there is a mess. They simply have no clue on how to orderly get cars to lots and parked in a timely manner. It causes massive backups out to route 84. You must plan on arriving 3 hours earlier than you thought in order to get parked and into the stadium in time for the event. Second is even worse. They explicitly state what is allowed into the stadium on their website; however, once you get there, they basically just make stuff up, such as "that item must be smaller than a piece of paper. Oops, I meant half a piece of paper. Oh, wait, it must be a clear bag". To be denied entry and then have to walk back to their terrible parking lots and miss half a game is absurd. Get it together. It costs way too much for parking and a game to have to deal with this stuff.
Bad organization for international soccer, they're so not ready for this. Many people moved into seats which they didn't pay for. We had a problem getting our seats which were taken by others. There was no one to assist and manage this problem. Terrible parking management too. $15 for a beer as if it was Wembley.
Rentschler is easy to get to via the highway making it close to the entrance & exit ramps. Plenty of parking which is helped with staff directing you to the closest spots. Once inside the main concourse is right there so it’s just a matter of finding your section and going to your row. Except for one area on each side of the field all the seating is benches, meaning no actual seats. So no backrest or padding. A couple of people brought cushions to sit on and had no issues bringing them in. There’s concession stands for food and beverages as well as bathrooms. We had 2 seniors with us and we were able to pre-register them for seating in an area that didn’t require them doing any stairs. Pre arrange for anyone who is in a wheelchair, walker, etc. Depending on the time of day etc I’d recommend wearing sunglasses.
