Professor Edgar Chutan in addition to being an accomplished bjj practitioner was also boxing coach to multiple who's who of mma world champions. He is professional, extremely talented, and just a wonderful personality. His son Sebastian is the future of Brazilian jiujitsu. Truly diligent and dynamic competitor as well as coach. Its a family experience at Renzo Bay Ridge. For all levels, the adcc champion, the first responder looking to sharpen their skills, and the mature adult looking for a fun workout.

We are so grateful for Renzo Gracie Bay Ridge! Jiujitsu has become a family affair for us over the last 5 years. Since then we are thrilled to be apart of the kids competition team and the growing Women’s class! There is an extensive amount of classes for us to train all week! This isn't just a BJJ gym this is a family a community of people wanting to see others succeed and do better. Professor Edgar has fostered something rare, yet powerful his approach to teaching is unique and gets results. This gym is women friendly the level of respect I get as a female in what's a predominantly male sport is beautiful. My whole family trains here. The instructors are patient, kind, but also know how to push you beyond your limits in a healthy way.

I started training here at Renzo Gracie Bayridge five years ago. Since then they’ve become an extension to my family. Not only through the knowledge and experience but the loyalty was granted from the start. My son has also been training here for five years and my wife has trained here since before the woman’s class began. I look forward into my journey here and getting my black belt from Professor Edgar.

I joined jujitsu just wanting to have a hobby but after the first class I was hooked. The environment is great, the people are funny and always have me drained by the end of class. I walked in wanting a hobby and left with a life style.

I love this gym!! Super clean and organized. Staff is super friendly. Trainers make sure everybody feels at home, from beginners to the more experienced. Definitely recommend!!
