Restaurant Guatemalteco El Rinconcito Chapin

Fantastic joint and a great find. The ribs were easily the best I’ve had from any restaurant ever and the longaniza was nothing short of phenomenal. I also thought the tamales were outstandingsorry I didn’t get a decent pic. If you are looking for some outstanding Guatemalan food look no further. Go here and wear some loose pants!

GREAT HOLE IN THE WALL! I came here the day I was leaving the country to go to Guatemala because I wanted to try the food I will be eating. A Guatemalteco / Guatemalan may have a different opinion, but to me I thought in comparison to the food I had in Guate this place has AUTHENTIC GUATEMALAN FOOD! Come check it out! If you’re vegan / vegetarian there are options for you! I appreciate that so much.

The food is so freaking good! The flavors are very robust and delicious. I got the Chapincito Plate and a limonada. The portions were perfect and I ate everything on my plate. The lemonade had chia seeds in it, which my Guatemalan friend tells me is a very standard Guatemalan drink. The lemonade was great, I got one to go. The service was really good too. They were very kind. This is my new favorite place to eat. I want to try everything on their menu.

Whether you are planning to travel to Guatemala or not. Maybe you are exploring Guatemala from Austin? This is it!!!! El Rinconcito Chapin is the only real Guatemalan food in Austin! Don't expect anything else but real Guatemalan food. The food is delicious, full of flavor, nice atmosphere, not big yet perfect. They play Marimba music and they have pictures on the tables of what Guatemala has to offer if you visit. We got a spread of delicious food. These are our top dishes: Costilla Adobada, blue corn tortillas, atol de elote, fried plantains, Guatemalan tamales and Longanizas made at the restaurant, don't order the chorizo or chipilin as it needs improvement. Thank you to the amazing stuff! You made us feel like we were back in Guatemala.

We got two of the sampler plates and EVERYTHING was delicious, from the garnachas to the freshly made blue tortillas to the longaniza. Highly recommended

Me and my team love this place!! Some of the finest and authentic Guatemalan food you can get in town. We love the Potato tamales and the dobladas. They make frescas fresh too! The atole elote? It's this sweet creamy corn chowder? My absolute favorite . The service is always great!!! The ladies are always so sweet. I love this place, they're hard to beat!

This is the best small dine in place to eat! The service is awesome, the food is phenomenal and it will just blow you away at how quaint yet astounding it is. No joke. And the hot sauce is just freaking great! It's got the right heat and flavor! Five Stars and then some!

The chicken tostada's are delicious. One of the best tamales I've ever had in my life. I love the food here I've been here 5 times and each time I order something different. I haven't tried something I didn't enjoy. Strawberry milkshakes are amazing.

Squuueee! My wife,Jeanne, found out about a Guatemala restaurant right here in Austin So if course we had to try out! Having just spent 10 days in Guatemala I can attest to the absolute authenticity of all the dishes we tried. From the fried plantains to the chicken and herb stuffed chuchitos... From the pepian to the creamy chicken... And the black corn tortillas and those oh so heavenly black beans!!? One could almost swoon!

This was a very good experience for people looking to venture outside of the normal when it comes to Latin flavors. Try this little Guatemalan joint. Staff were nice and the food was good.
