While traveling to play a festival in Iowa, one of the bands I play in The Creswell Club stopped and ate at Tecalitlan Restaurant. The food was amazing! There were plenty of vegetarian options and the food was fresh & delicious. Owner/waitress, Angelica was so warm and friendly. Great vibes and reasonable pricing! A+++ 4/5 stars all around!! Thank you! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tacos with avocado were perfect!
Food was not very good. Salsa was very spicy and at least a week old. I ordered a steak meal, the steak was completely burned and chewy. The meat was grossly over salted. The rice and beans were flavorless and the rice looked as if it had been over cooked by about 2 days. Service was polite but not very attentive and seemed annoyed. Place was clean and well lit. Overall not a great experience and the food will not have me running back.
This was a yummy authentic restaurant with great food and delicious margaritas. The bathrooms and restaurant were clean. And the service was good. The birria was amazing, served with fresh lime, cilantro, and white onion like it is supposed to ;Food: 5/5
They likely have good food. They were under staffed when I was there. It took forever for them to acknowledge I was there. They simply pointed to a seat rather than escort me. I did not get water or a menu for quite some time. I left. Everyone I saw was working hard. Therefore I say they care, but they are under staffed.Service: 1/5
Authentic Mexican Restaurant. The shaved beef in my Burrito melted in my mouth. Served with delicious house made Verde & red salsa. Service was friendly and fast.Food: 5/5
Friendly competent staff, fast prep, good quality. Not the best area. Good vegetarian options. Shown is stuffed Chile Rellenos dinner. House red has a pleasant habernero kick and the house green is milder and herbal. Good job to this place. Cheers
We enjoyed our dinner here tonight. We came in with a group of eight, which can be a bit hectic. However, Angela did an excellent job. Everyone said their food was really good.
Clean restaurant with nice outgoing staff. The table sauce was really good but the chips weren't as crispy as I like. Other people at the table really enjoyed their food. I decided to try something different and it wasn't to my liking but that's not their fault. The drinks are pricey and at the end of our meal we didn't actually get a ticket or receipt. We just went up and paid and were told what we owed. Not sure if this is the normal.
We love this restaurant! We come at least once a week and order various different menu items. Their Al pastor is amazing. The family that owns it is very kind and hard working.Food: 5/5
Overpriced, bad service and food is mediocre at BEST! don't waste your time coming here. You will be dissapointed.
