Revival 1869 - A Drinkery

This place has to be the best kept secret in the whole Raleigh region. It's been open for a few years, but it was always the biggest "hidden" gem down here in Clayton, serving up impeccable cocktails by extremely talented mixologists. The menu changes frequently but if you don't see something that speaks to you, tell the bartenders what you like; they'll make you something great! It's also the best place to get a whisky, neat. Everyone hypes the bar culture in Raleigh or Durham, but I've been to those bars, and I still think Revival is better. Yes. In little ol' Clayton, NC!

The hostess set the bar for good service. We felt welcomed and cared for during our visit. The bar itself has a lively atmosphere, and then there are plenty of quieter nooks inside and out to get cozy in and enjoy your cocktail. Cocktails themselves are delicious. I had the Santa Clara Summer twice, and it was one of the best cocktails I can remember having. The bathroom amenities completed the experience. Everything you could need! Thanks Revival! The fact that a place like this exists in Clayton is incredible. It is a really great atmosphere with very intelligent mixologists behind the bar. Me personally I only need a bottle of whiskey and glass with a little bit of ice. They have a whole lot of that.

Chic Manhattan vibe, unexpected in downtown Clayton. Amazing "red liquor" selection bourbon, whiskey, scotch and a well-rounded drink menu of custom offerings that are concocted by busy, not quite aloof bartenders that's again a nod to the general feel of the place, not a knock. Apparently they do live music occasionally. Small space could be overwhelming but I haven't experienced it so can't really comment. We ordered a charcuterie board for our small 6 group and it was just enough. Our drinks were not too expensive and we were able to find a place at the bar to order and then also commandeered a sitting area in the lounge side. Overall a nice time. We stayed about 30-45mins. Good crowd for a Fri but not overcrowded.

Stopped by for a unique drink before dinner, and they delivered! Had an over the top cocktail I had never tasted the likes of Soma Like it Hot. Unbelievably extensive bar, unusual, elegant atmosphere, knowledgeable, fun staff Miguel, Sharq, Kieran made for a one-of-a-kind experience! If you are in the Raleigh area, VISIT!

Great cocktails for sure! Little pricey depending on what you get but it’s the most crafted cocktail I’ve had in the Clayton area. Would go again. Cute around Christmas time. Bartenders are busy but friendly.

This unique Clayton bar is bar far one of the most unique in the area and not something I would have expected to find in Clayton. The ornamented cozy and comfortable decor provides more of an intimate environment for groups and couples. They make an excellent old fashioned and have great bartenders at the ready to engage their mixology skills. If your looking for a chill environment that comes with a speakeasy feel, this is where you want to be. Cheers!

I absolutely love this place! Perfect chill zone. Several people strongly recommended this spot...even bartenders from nearby towns, which speaks volumes. I decided to finally check it out and have been going ever since. Great atmosphere, mature, and friendly patrons, live music, weekly education classes on select spirits. Most importantly, the bartenders are AMAZING. You can get alcohol almost anywhere, but what matters is the atmosphere, service, and ambiance. This place surpasses the mark beyond measure. Can't say enough about management. Very personable and blend in with the crowd, which speaks volumes to the genuine care they have for their patrons, staff, and establishment. It genuinely feels like a home the owners opened up for extended family to relax and unwind!!!!

Half of the fun of going to a cocktail bar is to talk with the bartenders about different liquors and cocktails and to sample things you can’t get most places or make at home. This place fits the bill! Great vibes, knowledgeable and professional bartenders, awesome selection of spirits. Highly recommend.
