Dr Wells is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. He has completely changed my outlook for a healthy life. His staff from the receptionist to nurses and labs have all been warm, welcoming and thorough. There are no words to properly articulate what his office has done for me. I will be forever grateful.
I have dealt with Dr. Wells's office multiple times and have only met up with smiles and a willingness to assist. Tracy, the infusion nurse, has been so helpful with my infusions and with all the many questions I have sent her way. Amanda, PA, is so friendly and knowledgeable and being caring. I would recommend this office to anyone.
Some of the staff are nice, and they are welcoming. But they are reckless. Instead of billing my insurance for full coverage, they sent my bill to a collection agency under the name of "Dendel". My name is Daniel. The doctor was running behind and only had time to introduce himself to me and send me to the blood lab. Understandable at the time, It could have been a bad day at the office and they needed to catch up. The blood test nurse was a new nurse who didn't seem to have been told exactly what to do. She did her best and meant well but she tore up my vein and the tissue around it pretty bad. The area around my vein was greenish purple and swollen for a couple weeks. I took pictures in case of infection, but the swelling went down eventually. There is still a small bump on my arm months after the appointment.
Doctor Alvin Wells has been my Rheumatologist for over 10 years! I was referred to him by a family member, who is also a long time patient. Since then I have referred many people myself! As my insurance has changed through the years. The first question I ask "is DR.WELLS in my plan"! YOU WILL NEVER meet a more Friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate Doctor! He Truly makes you feel "YOUR" understood and not just another patient! You can talk to him about ANYTHING ! You will find a welcoming staff and a team of nurses that are Awesome! You can tell they all share the same moto ... "patient's first" !
Dr. Alvin Wells and his Physician's Assistants are all amazing! I highly recommend that anyone with a rheumatologist health problem should go see him. Dr. Wells and his staff are friendly, polite, and they LISTEN. The most dangerous doctor is one who has an ego and doesn't listen to their patients. You will not have that problem here! Not only are they wonderful, but he is an amazing physician. Really smart, and really proactive. I'm 29 years old and have had lupus since I was 11, and my lupus has never been so controlled as it is since I started seeing Dr. Wells. Also, there is a Weight Loss Clinic inside the Rheumatology and Immunotherapy Center. I've never gone to the clinic itself, but I had a lot of weight to lose due to being on prednisone. I started using the Weight Loss Supplement that Dr. Wells sells right in the office - no prescription - and I've lost 45 lbs without dieting or exercise. It is specially formulated for people like me who cannot exercise the weight off due to health restrictions and need their metabolism boosted. Also, I'm on Medicare disability and can still see Dr. Wells because they accept Medicare AND Medicaid Title 19. Wonderful office, wonderful people, wonderful doctors! It is worth driving several hours to see this man, trust me!
Dr. Wells is fantastic .... but, his staff is just awful. I've been calling for a week to make an appointment. No one answers the phone, which then goes to voicemail. Even after leaving repeated messages, no calls back. Frustrating.
Dr is not responsive to patient issues or concerns.
Good doctor but staff/nursing do not return phone calls. Took me 2-3 weeks of calling for them to finally call back and by that time my prescription was late.
Both my mother and myself have been patients of Dr. Wells. I also see his physician assistant Tristan. I love this place and have found both Tristan and Dr.Wells to be caring, devoted and so knowledgeable in my pain control and psoriasis.
Habitual reschedules. And can’t “reschedule you until 3 months later at the earliest”. Honestly find another rheumatologist office. It’s more a headache than anything dealing with them.
