In 1992 the Rhinebeck Department Store was established. The 3 story historic brick building has been a cornerstone in Rhinebeck village since 1870 . The store is a favorite shopping destination for residents, returning tourists, and an occasional celebrity.
Come see our beautiful selections from Pendleton, Woolrich, Fresh Produce Clothing, Color Me Cotton, Habitat, Hatley and many other country classics. We have a commitment to stock comfortable clothes with style for all seasons. Open seven days a week, we are located on the northeast Corner of Rt. 9 and Rt. 308 ( One East Market Street) Diagonally across from the Beekman Arms.

Interesting store... excellent customer service!

The two ladies that run this place provide excellent customer service and make everyone feel welcome as they enter the store. I had called in advance to make sure they still had an item that was featured in the window and as they promised it was still available 48 hours later. The selection of high quality clothing products on display always complement the season or at least the upcoming season. I look forward to my next visit.

Wonderful high-quality clothing for men and women one of the few shops where my husband also has great stuff to look at too!. Many made-in-USA items, and staff is very helpful and friendly.

I went in to buy some pants.  I wear an unusual size, so not only did they order the size that I need, they GAVE me a free pair of jeans because no one ever buys that size!  In Louisiana, that is known as “ lagniappe” or “ a little something extra”.  These people understand service and are as polite as can be.  I’m a customer for life.
