Dr. Bates is a 1979 alumini of VMI and graduated dental school at "The Ohio State University" in 1984. He began practicing dentistry in 1984. Dr. Bates has been married for over 25 years to his wife, Sue and has two children. Will is currently a junior at UVA and Jack is a freshman at VCU. Dr. Bates is currently a member of the Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently involved in a mentoring program at MCV and the Mission Of Mercy project. He participates with Donated Dental and Gives Kids a Smile and loves to visit local elementry schools promoting dental health.
