This library is never too crowded, quiet & plenty of natural light.  Perfect for studying, reading or researching.  Being located on the second floor it provides a nice view of Richmond Heights.  Zero noise from the nearby highway.  Plenty of free parking.  Restrooms are close.
Well stocked and thoughtfully laid out for browsing, research, periodicals, or internet. Old-school media for traditionalists, hipsters, and the nostalgic, plus all the modern connectivity and convenience for early adopters. Interlibrary privileges across the metro area, in-building access to the Richmond Heights rec center and indoor pool, shared parking to the east with AB Green city park.
I was there sat and 2 guys working there wouldn’t be quiet. They kept talking and giggling during down time. The only time they would stop is when someone was checking out or returning a book. Then Monday one of the staff couldn’t stop coughing. And this went on for almost a good 30min. Someone should take her outside instead of spreading germs indoors.
I love our library. The staff is very helpful, and I’ve received many great book recommendations. I enjoy the favorite authors program. Many times I’ve have no idea that one of my favorite authors has published another book, until the library emails me that I have the book available for pick up. I miss physically being able to browse the stacks since Covid-19 protocols have been in effect, but I love the curb side delivery they provide. It feels like I’m in the readers first class section. I really appreciate the work that they all do. ™
Three stars for having lots of books and media, computers for use by card-holders, and plenty of space to sit and work, with lots of available outlets to plug into—many things standard at any library. However, this library differs from norms in the way the staff treats the patrons—and the way the management treats the staff. The staff here isn't particularly friendly, and if you forget your library card and try to use your driver's license or other photo ID to verify your identity, they're likely to get grumpy about it and insist that you're only allowed to make this mistake once, and after that you're S.O.L. This is objectively a lie, and gives the impression that the staff is there to serve themselves, not their patrons. Further evidence of this mindset appears in the fact that the turn off their Wi-Fi 15 minutes before closing. What patron need could this possibly serve? None. But a staff who wants to get all the library patrons out of the library 15 minutes before closing? Well-served indeed. Another disappointment is their wireless printing service. Good luck trying to get that to work. None of my prints have ever appeared. One day I was trying to read at the library when a member of management began to loudly and relentlessly for at least 20 minutes, maybe longer berate two members of the staff because someone had been placing books in the wrong stack behind the desk. It was honestly one of the most demeaning and insulting tirades I've ever witnessed, and although one of those particular staff members had been quite rude to me in the past, I felt bad for them nonetheless, for this was a truly Gordon Ramsey-esque storm of disappointment condescension but delivered more like a frustrated temper tantrum, the kind to be expected from an incompetent, power-tripping, micro-manager. I was appalled that the manager would insult and berate her employees loudly audible from the opposite side of the library rather than have a conversation in the office which she stomped into, alone, slamming the door behind her. Wholly unprofessional, and arguably uncivilized.
This is an amazing library! The children's story time is so wonderful. All of the staff are inviting and helpful!
Nice layout and clean. Usually able to find a spot to sit. However if you need to use their computers there may be a wait.
Useless for any remotely serious scholarly endeavor. Don't even bother calling about an interlibrary loan outside the 'consortium' of county municipal libraries. /IF/ your call is returned, you'll be informed they can't get get you anything you want.
Great staff, very Helpful and Friendly recharge your EV ..... Beep..beep ... While you are there.
We got our vaccines there, very nice people
