Ridge Run Dog Park

About

Come enjoy Boyne City's latest addition! Meet dozens and dozens of new four legged friends and their wonderful owners!

Description

MISSION STATEMENT:
To establish an off-leash dog park where dogs and their (owners/friends) have a safe, well-maintained area for recreation and socialization.
To promote responsible canine care to Boyne area citizens and visitors who will uphold the park’s rules.
To respond to the needs of a significant portion of the Boyne area population for a vibrant, play location for pets. The Boyne City Dog Park is viewed as a canine complement to the town’s existing public parks.

Location: The proposed Dog Park location is at the north end of town, near our DPW North Boyne yard, proposed to utilize the north and south side of Ridge St. between Court, Addis & Escape Streets. This location is currently unused and undeveloped.
The parcels are fairly level, generous in size, minimal neighboring home owners, near City utilities for water and future sewer connections with some mature trees already on the lots for shade. There are additional attributes that make this location desirable for this use.

Volunteers: The City of Boyne City, through its Parks & Recreation Commission established a volunteer Dog Park committee who is willing to do much of the research and make recommendations to the Parks & Rec. Commission and the City Commission for consideration and implementation. They will also be responsible for fund-raising efforts to finance the proposed park and its elements. The committee which consists of community members, a representative of the Charlevoix County Humane Society, and members of the Leadership Charlevoix County program have already been hard at work narrowing down the location, drafting concept renderings, researching materials, cost estimates and will begin their capital funds campaign.

A very nice dog park, almost in the middle of nowhere. It has a small dog area and a large dog area. The size is plenty big. 50 dogs could easily be comfortable. The have tunnels and things for dogs to run through. There's a walking path along the entire inside perimeter. Also a doggie watering hose and seats for the humans. There is also picnic tables if you want to attempt a meal around wild dogs. There are only 3 dog parks in the N.W.L.P. I'm glad they did this one right. My dog lived it and so did I. Easily a 5 star review. If you're near Boyne City with a dog, then stop here!
This place is awesome. Tons of dogs go here and hang out. Plenty of space for them to run out their energy and socialize. There are 3 separate areas: Large, small, and agility training. Its close to my house, so its a hang out spot for us Picnic area: There is a covered area with a full size picnic table.
Great place, with water for the dogs and plenty of space.
Probably one of the nicest dog parks I've been too. 4 areas to choose from, the biggest one is over 3 acres, another has a complete agility course set up, the smaller ones are close to an acre each. Water is available for the dogs at both dog bowls and a water fountain. Great park. Went back again this year, still a great park! Back again, still great.
I brought my dog for the 1st time here. I felt great that I could throw his toys far and not have to worry about it going too far. We made several new friends. I loved being able to use the tunnels and the water feature.
This dog park is AMAZING! There are 2 areas large and small dog. My large dog loves his side There is tons of space for him to run plus toys, chairs, covered picnic areas and a firepit!
Very large area for big dogs. Lots of tennis balls provided. Clean and friendly environment
Nice large fenced-in area with water benches table plenty of room for your dog to run. There's a separate fenced-in area for small dogs and an area with obstacle course for training.
Nice area to let the dogs explore. There is also a walking path on the periphery and a water fountain.
Only one close to petoskey, port-A-John, separate lg & small dog areas. Hardly anyone around. Water spigots, shade, balls, chairs, picnic tables. Nice
