Nice gravel trail for running and gravel bikes. Loved the air pump and tools in the parking lot. The marsh views are really cool. We saw a lot of birds including blue jays, sparrows, hawks, cardinals, egrets, and mockingbirds. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is due to the massive amounts of dog feces on the edge of the trail. Yuck.
We continue to enjoy the many trails in the area and the Colony Shoreline Trail is one we liked a lot. We walked about 5 miles. Saw some birds near the Scout park area The trail was gravel and was not too crowded. We were able to see the lake for most of the trail. Someone else had posted on the dog poop on the path and this was true so do look down when you walk, which is a shame since the view is much more interesting to look at.
My daughter and I found this gem, this evening. It's beautiful, has a wide dirt path that appears to be well maintained, and helps you forget you are in a city, for a bit. They do suggest you carry a horn, as coyotes and bobcats may be in the area. We only saw a beautiful hawk. Because it was late in the evening when we stumbled across this nature trail, we didn't go too far, but definitely have plans to return! It would be GREAT for a family walk easy for strollers or a family bike ride!
A beautiful November day for a bike ride on these trails around the lake. Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and there was no one in the picnic areas. Everyone must have been at work.
It is amazing here! The trails are over 3 miles long and surrounded with real nature! This will become one of our favorite parks, and it is good for maintain better health through walking in the nature! :
The scenery is nice, and the trail fairly well laid out, but nowhere does it state the trail is one way, lol. I ended up in another park 3 miles away from my car.
Well Maintained trail leads from park around lake, gradual trail, easy walk, birds, trees, lake view, early morning or late afternoon to see deer, racoons, bobcats.
Great Trail with nice View of Lewisville Lake. We saw some Deer, Racoon & Bobcats too though !! It has a Nice Playground near Parking.
