I was babysitting a dog whose owners were in Spain and she punctured her eye. Ridgetop got me in ASAP and spent over an 90 minutes with us getting her all squared away for surgery. The vet made all the phone calls to different Optometrist veterinarians and also was in contact with the owners in Spain. I was so impressed! We weren't even regular clients. They went over and above for this little dog!
At 2am I found and abandoned kitten sitting in the middle of the road that couldn't see out of it's eyes crying for it's mom. I took it in when the hospital opened and the staff was so nice and the kitty right in. I found out it was a girl and name her Luna. Other than an infection in the eyes she was in good health and sent me home with antibiotics and a follow up. The staff was very professional and kind hearted. They had a genuine love for animals that you can't fake. I will be taking all my kitties there for now on. Luna can now see out of both eyes and is a fistie little 4 week old kitty.
Excellent Vet Dr. Holden was extremely through when examining my 4 dogs! They took an amazing amount of time to examine and also to explain everything to me in detail. Aubrey, the tech was also very, very helpful and took lots of time with us. My only problem was that the tech told me she would email me right away, so that I could order the correct flea meds for my pups.....and I didn't get the email from the animal hospital at all. Obviously an oversight. Otherwise they were fantastic!
Great experience overall! My dog got an annual exam and routine vaccines. Wait time from check-in to getting into the room took a while, but everyone was very friendly. I had my toddler with me and she had a stuffy. The vet even did a check up on her stuffed bear, which made her day! The vet tech and vet himself were very patient with my dog, playful and gentle. Thank you!
Great customer service! Almost no waiting to see the Doctor & she was professional, knowledgeable and gave me all of the expenses before starting the exam. I've been going to Ridgetop Animal Hospital for the last 8 years and the doctors & staff have always been great! Highly recommended!
I'd like to start off by saying that in years past, I was mostly pleased with the level care provided to my pets with just a couple of minor concerns. I have no idea what is going on with them right now, but buyer beware. I have gone to Ridgetop Animal Hospital for many years with personal pets and foster pets. I have paid them thousands and thousands of dollars for surgeries, tests, cremations and well-pet visits over many years. BUT, they have been short-staffed for several years now causing a month or more for an office visit. My dog a Ridgetop established pet had a large mass on her hind leg and Ridgetop was unable to see her for a month unless I wanted to pay premium for an urgent care visit. Instead, Bayview Veterinary Hospital was able to see her on short notice for a needle biopsy even though my dog was not an established pet. The complete records following that visit were provided to Ridgetop to review to see if they could do the surgery to remove a soft tissue sarcoma. I received a phone call saying they needed a picture. I responded by letting them know the picture + measurements were included in all of her medical records that I had already provided. The receptionist called me to relay a message from the vet that the records indicated a recommendation from Bayview requested a "board certified surgeon". I asked the receptionist to have the vet call me back because the records don't state anywhere about "board certified" and reminded her that Ridgetop has performed several challenging surgeries on my pets previously and I had questions that I wanted to ask. The receptionist then called me back again to say that if I wanted them to do the surgery, then I would need to schedule a consultation to discuss whether or not they could even do the surgery. First available consultation appointment is a little over a month from today. I told the receptionist that, that is NOT what I asked. I asked for the courtesy of a call back from the veterinarian so that I may ask questions of a veterinary professional, not a receptionist. She told me that this is how they do business and to let her know if I wanted to schedule an appointment. IMO, nope, absolutely not. I am appalled at the exceedingly low level of consideration and lack of customer service provided. My pets are clearly nothing more than $$$ to Ridgetop and an inconvenience. Their standard of care has sunk to an all-time low, IMO. UPDATE 4/27/23: I received a letter today advising me that they are cancelling our client-patient relationship because they arbitrarily and capriciously deem me to be "disrespectful" and "combative". Apparently they only appreciate and welcome positive reviews and give zero consideration for constructive criticism and equally have no desire to learn from their mistakes or even recognize them for that matter. Everyone should keep that in mind lest they "cancel" you and your pets too.
Dr. Fulcher and the staff at Ridgetop Animal Hospital are fabulous!!! They are compassionate, kind and wonderful to their furry patients. And as a “parent” of a furry companion who considers my dog as an integral part of my family I can’t thank them enough for all the care they have given to her and us over the years!!
Ridgetop has been a great veterinarian for our beloved pets. Some of the vets have moved on...but I really like the new vet, Dr. Arana. He saw both my dog and cat this week.
Took my cat there last month due to scooting symptoms. My cat had been doing so for about a month. Cat was then treated reactively for potential GI parasites. Unfortunately, I'm now discovering that this is due to fleas that he has bite marks all over especially around the tail end which explains scooting behavior. Every veterinarian i've been to run a flea comb onto the cat to check for fleas. This was omitted in this case. I feel like this could've been uncovered with a thorough examination and saved this cat another month of angst and suffering. Staff were nice but I will never go back there due to this lack of thoroughness and scrutiny.
We have always been satisfied with the services provided at RAH, and that we never paid attention on which veterinarian provides care for our pets since most of them were professional and showed genuine care for our pets. However, after our most recent visit with Dr. Alvarez, we will definitely pay more attention to whom we schedule our pets with. She was quite dismissive with our questions regarding our concerns about our pets and her response were unprofessional and disrespectful.
