Ridgewood Karate Academy is a unique, family oriented karate studio with well-trained, supportive and positive martial arts instructors and key staff members.

Our Kids Martial Arts Programs are designed to build character, keep kids healthy/physically fit, and improve life skills including self-confidence, respect, focus, self-esteem, discipline, courtesy and compassion.

Our Teen and Adult Martial Arts Program is a total workout and delivers extensive martial arts benefits including improved muscle tone, weight loss, increased cardiovascular fitness, lower stress levels, increased energy and greater flexibility.

I can not say enough great things about RKA. Master Lau is very knowledgeable and great with how he works with the students. Sensei Roosevelt is awesome. Every once in a while, you see people who get it right with their job, he is one of them. All the instructors have the right mix of teaching students while keeping it fun and engaging. My son is learning life skills and building tons of confidence.
Sensei Roosevelt is an amazing teacher - patient, knowledgeable, and the perfect balance of discipline and fun. He and the rest of the instructors always go above and beyond. We have seen a lot of growth in our daughter in the year she’s been here, and we look forward to coming to classes throughout the week. The school has a flexible schedule to accommodate everyone, and we would recommend it to all.
This place is AWESOME! My daughter loves it here. Master Smiere sorry if I misspelled it and his team are patient and professional with the lil ones. They have fun but learn discipline which is exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this place for all age ranges.
Amazing instructors, they are great, fun and attentive towards all the kids. They teach discipline, respect and self defense. The instructors also show and exemplify great respect towards the kids. Their pricing is reasonable. It is a wonderful Academy for Karate, yet they also offer other courses and birthday parties for kids.
I have been a member Ridgewood Karate Academy for 14 years. It continues to be a safe and accepting environment for kids and adults of all ages. There are classes for everybody at every skill level. I highly recommend joining.
My grandchildren have been attending for about 2 years and they have learned so much. The instructors are wonderful and patient with the children. My grandchildren enjoy attending not only for the classes but also for movie nights for the kids when they have parents night out. I highly recommend. Very friendly and courteous staff.
This is a great Dojo and an AMAZING family type program for kids and adults. The staff here are awesome and very helpful and work with everyone from beginners to more advanced. They treat everyone with warm welcomes, I am so happy that I found Ridgewood Karate Academy!!!
I've been going here for about 3 years so far and I love it. You work hard towards each belt promotion. The staff is always there to help guide you toward success and they are more than happy to stick around after class to help a little extra with your belt requirements. So glad i started going to RKA. Highly recommended!
