"Edward Riegel, M.D. is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who has been practicing ophthalmology for over 35 years. He has performed thousands of micro-surgical procedures, and while he no longer performs surgery for Cataracts and Pterygium his extensive experience helps assist patients in deciding whether or not surgery is appropriate for them. He currently serves as chief of the division of Ophthalmology at South Shore University Hospital. Dr. Riegel takes pride in having taken care of multiple generations of the same family. In his free time he enjoys swimming, cycling, reading biographies, and travel."

For the first time I didn't spend hours waiting for the doctor! I used to go to the site in West Islip and the waiting was endless. Today I went to Bay Shore and it wasn't crowded I was there in the morning, maybe that's why it was fast. In less than an hour I was back home. Dr. Riegel was very nice, asked me questions and answered all my concerns. He wasn't in a rush and took the time to explain my condition.
Dr. Riegel has been my doctor for approximately 30 years. He’s very easy to talk to and personable.
