Stayed here to primitive camp for our hiking trip through the new river gorge Park. Good proximity to everything you will need. Campground was good as well. Stayed at spot 38. Which was good however if someone is at site 39 they're parking spot is pretty much in front of your space so if they are a spunky family all night, like our neighbors were when we were there, then your going to get beamed the entire night with headlights from their vehicles and small kids with their flashlights till midnight it longer. There's also no "privacy" between the sites 38-36 which is something I was hoping for but the pictures only showed the spot and you couldn't really tell how exposed you were to your neighbors. Overall good campground, amazing staff, sites were level and complete with bench, fire ring and water and electric. Porta potty was available in the back half of the campground for when walking 10 minutes to the shower house wasn't an option.
Nice campground and great location near New River Gorge National Park. The main campground is a bit tight, that is why we chose the Outback area good for smaller RVs. Site 32 was perfect for our RV 18 footer. We had more space between sites, water, and electric. The walk to the bathhouse was longer, but really no big deal. There was also a pot-a-potty if you didn’t want to take a walk. The bathhouse was very clear. Laundry machines all worked and were a reasonable price. My kids loved the playground and they met lots of other kids. Pet friendly too! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us to get into our spot because it was a little challenging. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Me and my husband had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Serenity Cabin. It was quiet and very peaceful. I give this campground five stars on the cleanliness of campground, the cabin we stayed in, and the restrooms were always kept clean throughout the day. The staff was very friendly and made sure you had whatever you needed. Our stay was perfect and so was our cozy cabin. We will definitely be back!
Excellent staff, they go out of their way to make sure all customers are happy and taken care of. The campground is clean all power connections that we used at two different campsites worked perfectly. The sites are well maintained and level. Very nice area close to many activities and New River Gorge. Will definitely stay here again.
Stayed here so we could have a short drive to excursions. Price is per person. We stayed at tent site 2 and it was very secluded and shaded. Went during the week after Labor Day and there were plenty of sites. Bathrooms are nice and they have a sink for dishes as well as showersLocation: 5/5
What a gem!!!! We stayed just one quick night since we were passing through on our way home from vacation. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The CG itself is nestled in the woods and VERY scenic. Level pads. Sites are close together, but we weren't expecting large spacious pads. And the CG is super quiet, no traffic noise! Staying here is a must if you're in the area of the New River Gorge bridge area.
What a great campground! Had no idea what to expect as I booked off a google search and reviews for a trip from TN to Maine and back my family is current on. This was our first stop on our way and it really spoiled us! The campground is so quiet and peaceful. The bathhouse was always super clean and the showers were strong and hot! Was very accessible to all the New River Gorge activities and I will definitely stay again if we are back in the area. Loved every minute of our stay in West Virginia!
This place was very peaceful and well designed. The store has nice, accessible, cheap things you might need during your stay. They have ice and firewood, well priced. Not too urban like other campgrounds, in the forest. Nice bathrooms and hot shower.Rooms: 5/5
Not only was the site superbly clean, but those running it were friendly, respectful and helpful. My friend and I felt safe the entire duration of our visit. Additionally, one of the individuals running the campground found a ring of mine that fell out of my car door and mailed it to me priority…it actually arrived back at my house before I did! I would absolutely recommend visiting this campground for several reasons!
This place is nestled in the mountain and has spacious sites for any style of camping. It is close to downtown Fayetteville, the National Park and 30 minutes from the exhibition Coal Mine. The grounds are kept clean as well as the bath houses. There is a fenced in area in which children can play. At times, we did feel as if the owners/staff were hovering with our children, but we rationalized that safety was their priority and that looks different for everyone.
