Exposé is a student-run, student-curated art space in downtown Providence. Beginning as a month-long pop-up gallery created by RISD students three years ago, Exposé is now collaborating with RISD 2ndLife in a year-round space downtown. Exposé is more than the usual student gallery; we move beyond the formal gallery restrictions and open the floor to new ways to show and sell excellent student, alumni, and local work, from the white-wall gallery show to the raucous art parade. Zine and comic stands, performance and installation, themed dance parties and local music, cozy film screenings... we want it all. Non-exclusive and ever-flexible, Exposé's atmosphere is not defined by any individual show, event, or workshop, but by the collection of everything that passes through the space. We want shows and events that cross disciplines, spark collaborations, and bring students and community together. With our new off-campus location at 204 Westminster, Exposé + 2ndLife can be more connected to the Providence community, linking RISD students with the goings-on at other local venues and spaces, and building ties between students, alumni, and community.
Excellent student, alumni, and local artwork - from fine arts to product design and large scale sculpture to xerox zine, and everything in between.
